QUOTE(geniousboy @ Jan 19 2018, 09:42 PM) hi. noob question here (really know nothing about aircon installation). firstly, what is all this piping? is it for electrical cabling or water drainage or gas or all? i only know that my house already got ac point prepared by developer. secondly, currently i just have 1 aircond which i brought from previous house. and i just want to install that 1 aircond plus preparing only the conceal piping for other areas, can i just call aircon guy or i should call contractor who do wall hacking as well? kindly enlighten me. thank you. Piping is everything. If you need to conceal the drainage/gas piping/wiring need contractor. Normal AC installer normally only do exposed pipings.

QUOTE(BaRT @ May 3 2018, 10:18 AM) not buy yet. Planning either to buy separately (online) or together with installation (shop), whichever with better price. When I replace my unit few months back, tried Kaodim & cannot accept their T&C, wanted to charged me rm100 for removal. Then managed to find one guy in Fave, very cheap & good service. Didn't charged me a single cent for removal & his staff even carry the old unit from upstairs to my garage without any complaint. If you need his contact can PM me.

QUOTE(ceo684 @ Feb 6 2021, 05:35 PM) It doesn't cost much to replace but the problem is that it cannot be slipped on easily (for existing installation) - need to cut a slit in the whole insulation length*. Also if its the big copper pipe (cold pipe) then insulation is important. If its the smaller copper pipe (hot pipe) can leave it naked. *self seal insulation exists (like a precut slitted foam tube, just wrap around the pipe and stick the ends of the C to make an O), only question is whether MY got such thing for sale or not. It's the cold pipe, I notice alot of condensation on those expose parts so guess it will affect the performance and increase the consumption a bit.
