Guys, at present my non inverter 1.5hp set at 18° which I'm thinking to change to inverter of the same HP. Assuming same temperature setting and fan speed, will I be able to reduce my tnb bills? TiA

Think 1HP inverter more thn suffice for all especially your master bedroom when its fully fitted with cabinets etc later...it can be from 1 to 1.5hp its getting hotter every year and a bigger size AC , you put it under less stress. many have complain about AC failures but we dont know about the User . can be the AC was too small size maybe user sets his remote temp very low ...like 20 deg . maybe user never check filter s status and do regular service . some users run the AC for 15 hours contineous regulary . result is premature failure of the AC .s QUOTE(kelvin @ Jun 26 2020, 01:56 PM) Hi, YesIs the piping for the AC different from hp? mean I cannot use piping for 1hp for 1.5hp AC? Thanks. This post has been edited by StevenL: Jun 26 2020, 02:54 PM |

QUOTE(64bit @ Aug 11 2020, 04:58 PM) My house is a landed terrace house and indeed encountered power trip during heavy lightning all these while. Perhaps you need to call TNB to check the incoming current to your TNB meter and also grounding cableSo far no other electrical failure. I do not have power surge protection. So far I practiced switching off the power switch for air con without removing the plug when Aircon is not in use. |

QUOTE(lambsauce @ Sep 25 2020, 12:45 PM) Comparing 1hp ac here, I honestly don't understand why ppl use aircond set at 25-27° might as well sleep with fan and it's cheaperi read the spec sheets that non-inverter ac runs at 800w, so it means that it’s either 800w or 0w, as non-inverter ac is on/off to regulate the temp being set, right? Then, inverter ac is with variable wattage of 860 (200 - 1,050), the 200w means for temp like 27- 28? If we on the ac at this highest possible temp, then it will just consume the lowest possible wattage? So, need to on for 8hrs for the inverter ac advantage to kick in is a myth? Am using Sharp inverter 5* set at 22° with saving off 45% compared with previous non inverter This post has been edited by StevenL: Sep 25 2020, 04:07 PM |

QUOTE(mhyug @ Apr 8 2021, 11:28 AM) just before i start paying for the sharp ones, any other fellow members have experience with the sharp air conditioners? hows the reliability? I've used non inverter Sharp for almost 10 yrs and it gave no problem until I replaced them with inverter ALSO sharp last year. These are installed in bedrooms only which means daily driver. Units are serviced once annually and in between just make sure filters are cleaned every quarterly i know reliability is much tied to how we in turn use the equipment, maintain the equipment etc. so what's the other user experience on it. Am staying in almost 2,900 sqf 2 storey house. Electricity bills has reduced by as much as 56% QUOTE(justapawn @ Apr 9 2021, 10:18 AM) In my opinion, Sharp is a very uncommon brand. I beg to differ, see my comments ab veIf you want reliability, you can choose common brand like Daikin/Panasonic/Samsung.... If you want cheaper, go for China brand like Midea/Hisense/Gree.....
