hi guys, would like to know how do we check if an air conditioner is still working?

i had my national air conditioner dismantled previously and iirc it was still working when it was dismantled.

fast forward today, i plugged the air conditioner into a power socket, and it's not starting, no sound/colour/beep.

is it because it's not connected to the outdoor unit? does it need to be connected to the outdoor unit to be turned on?

thanks

Getting 2x 2.5HP, 1x 1.5HP and 1x 1.0HP Daikin air conditioners.

Anyone know the difference between FTKG-Q and FTKU series?

From the website, FTKG-Q seems to have a lot more features such as ultra fast cooling, cold start & etc but are these gimmicks?

Considering FTKG-T as well for the modern look lol.

EDIT: One of the 2.5HP is to be placed at an open space, so should i get inverter or non-inverter?

The ambient temperature of the open space is around 27-28C, i just need to get it to 24-25C. Will the inverter still run at full load all the time since it only needed to bring down 2-3C?

Hey guys, installing new aircon, wondering if i should call back the previous installer, can you guys help me check if it's supposed to be installed like this? It's his previous installation (back to back):

Something does not feel right as i read everywhere the copper pipe should be slanted/sloped from the inner (higher) to the outer (lower)?

Also, there are supposed to be 2 copper pipes that should be insulated separately right?

Any other things that are wrong in this installation?

Thanks.

Any idea why our 1.5HP here uses 9.52mm copper pipe instead of 12.7mm and our 2.5HP uses 12.7mm instead of 15.88mm when the latter is the standard worldwide including Singapore?

And i was told by both air conditioner and daikin technician that it is not advised to connect 12.7mm to 1.5HP or 15.88mm to 2.5HP because doing so will increase noise and void warranty as it would cause problems to the compressor.

Seems to me that we are buying seemingly higher HP air conditioner but actually with lower capacity than advertised due to the limit of the copper size.

I would follow the spec in the manual. Pipe diameter will vary according to the HP of the AC.
If it says 12.7 or 15.88 there then follow la. These contractors use smaller diameter so it will save cost for them as its not their aircon, its yours. It will still work but not optimum la.. Think of driving a car on second gear all the way.. Sure it will move but makan minyak la. If you use smaller than specced pipe, it will still work but in the end your system running at higher than usual pressure.. Another way to sell you more aircon in future.

I would trust the engineer who design the aircon system, who has completed at least an engineering degree rather than a cap ayam installer technician tongue.gif

Haha you got my message wrongly, i was trying to say that Daikin should have allowed a bigger copper pipe like the international standards.

This aside, for back-to-back installation, did anyone ever request installers to drill left hole instead of right hole for easy maintenance since the copper pipe going to the outside can be connected indoor?

How long is the balance uncut length u have?

prolly 10m or more. 0.8mm thickness (which is really what you should use for R32/R401A and not anything less).

Anyone uses 1-way cassette aircon? So far I see only Samsung has it. Daikin/Mitsubishi has one but it's for VRF (kitchen/bathroom areas only).

Looks minimalist/clean. And no need to open hole for servicing (just my guess).

Just don't know how it compares to the standard 4-way one.
