I wouldnt take the figures seriously. Different manufacturer different measurement methods....marketing/sales strategies.

"New' models, same components ... 'different specs' !

Regular maintenance will gives better efficiency than paper speccifications !

Within the same brand the 9700 model would be better than the 9000 BTU one.. it is likely the 9000 one cut corner with smaller cooling coil so will affect cooling performance. Less metal = cheaper price yo

Manufacturer/installer will require you to change.

You can continue to use but at your own risk relating to any warranty claim.

My contractor quoted me RM1290 for installation of 1.0hp inverter air conditioner inclusive of hacking, re-skim coat, and repaint to original wall colour.

All materials provided are sirim approved materials, 0.8mm thick copper pipe individually insulated with 3/4” thick insulation, insulated PVC drain pipe to nearest drain, PVC casing at external exposed area.

So, your price isn’t that bad sweat.gif

Nice chart there! biggrin.gif

I would go with the highest BTU and highest rating, hence you have 2 models to pick from.

Can but need to vacuum out all the old oil kau kau.
If old piping is R22 better to replace (pressure is higher for R410/R32)

Copper pipes
It is necessary to use seamless copper pipes and it is desirable that the amount of residual
oil is less than 40 mg/10 m. Do not use copper pipes having a collapsed, deformed or
discolored portion (especially on the interior surface). Otherwise, the expansion value or
capillary tube may become blocked with contaminants.
As an air conditioner using R32(R410A) incurs pressure higher than when using R22, it is
necessary to choose adequate materials.

Thicknesses of copper pipes used with R32(R410A) are as shown in Table1. Never use
copper pipes thinner than 0.8 mm even when it is available on the market.

Only one size?

Panasonic CS-U10VKH, I managed to find cheapest online price at 1469 this few weeks. About 2 months back cheapest price was 1339. About 6 months back cheapest price was 1240.

Where did you get the price? Online or physical shop? I am thinking to go to few physical shop and try to get the 2 months back price laugh.gif

No layman will be able to measure those specs after installation. Too many variables.

Buy which brand you 'trust'.

Do you by any chance know what are the procedures to find out if the process of vacuuming out the old oil was done properly?

The best the technician does is to connect one end of the coil to the high pressured gas tank and pushed out the oil few times.

Very informative:
From the table below I can see it sort based on the EER, what is EER ?
Based on the guideline on the table, should we choose the model with higher BTU ?

Best effort.

Also depends on the length of your coil.

Any idea if the residual oil could damage anything in a R32 compressor?

Hi all, my living room aircond (York 1.5hp / 7 years old) has been giving issues quite frequently lately. Planning to change to another model, any model to recommend? Leaning towards Panasonic for now.

Questions :

1.) Worth to go for inverter or non-inverter?

Usage for weekdays : 5 hours per day.
Usage for weekends : Sometime up to 8 hours per day.

2.) The living room has a high ceiling so is it better to go with a 2hp unit? Using online calculators shows roughly a 1.75hp estimate.

Thanks!

Thanks for the info. Any idea which looks better from these 2 Pana models? I can only see the Nanoe X as the main difference.
