Not sure if Panasonic R32 inverter aircond is good to buy? Or Daikin?
*
If you are happy with your current brand, why change ? ... unless you are looking for some extra features.

Buying any untested brand without own experience is always a risk.

Never use Panasonic or Daikin before. Looking to buy aircond for new house.
*
If that is the case, I recommend Pana. As for Daikin I cant comment as I am not a user.

Thanks. I do have the same mind.

Buying via online can get cheaper than from shops?
*
My advise ...

Buy from shop plus installation. Any problem, they kaodim. Otherwise is blaming problem if buy and install separately.

Nice. How much it costs if just install without any piping etc... as the piping and electrical were done before which costs me RM1600 for  2 units 1HP and 1 unit 2HP.
*
Then ask the guy that did the piping and wiring to do. Should be around 250 to 300 per unit.

Hi guys,
Need advise here.

1. Thinking of changing my ceiling fan at my living room from 3 blades to 5. The current one had turn yellowish but still acceptable. Worth it to change for the sake of astetic? My ceiling is about 10ft.

2. My plan is to add aircon also, but since the shape of my living room is kinda wierd, (L shape) maybe cassette aircond is more suitable? (red box) or rather normal ones and put it above my sliding door? (yellow box)

3. What HP is recommended for either 2 option above?

4. Lastly, Is it possible to one use just one compressor for two aircond from different brand? Use one compressor for bedroom aircond (Pana) and soon to be installed living room aircond (Daikin, maybe?)

(sorry for the terrible picture quality)

My hall is similar to yours but slightly smaller in dimension. I installed a 2 hp wall unit. I set at 23 degree except during those hot days, then at 20. I have both fan turned on at the same time.

A good location is at the 'wording 23ft'.

Alternatively you can opt for ...
1. 1 unit 2.5hp or
2. 1 unit 2hp and 1hp.

Never use those 2 in 1 unless if you have no space for the extra outdoor unit.

As for the fan, if you are not buying those expensive models, go ahead. What is life afterall .... happy at what you are doing !

How do I deal with the piping to outside compressor? Go up into the ceiling? Would cassette aircond is better in this case?
*
I presumed your place is landed, so normally piping is through the wall, back to back installation or concealed inside the wall.

Cassette type will only look nice with plaster ceiling and it will lower your ceiling height. It will look like a 'spaceship' without the plaster ceiling and hanging next to the fan look like never a thought b4 doing.

Nope. It's a standard old terraced house. The living room and kitchen is separated. I do some calculations with Panasonic horsepower calculator and it returns 1.5hp.
*
Terrace house tend to be warmer than highrise. Buy a 2hp for faster cooling and less stress on the 1.5hp ac esp when there are more people in the house. Calculator dont take human heat into consideration.

Cant comment on LG. What is the dualcool about ?

Dualcool is the term they used for the technology of using dual inverter compressor technique that claim to be 40% faster in cooling and 70% more energy saving.

Here is the aircond they suggest to me.
https://www.lg.com/my/home-air-conditioners/lg-S3-Q12JA2PA

With a price of around RM2k without installation.
*
I give that tech a pass and opt for 2hp basic invertor unit.

Even for invertor, is difficult to measure savings unless you are using 1.5hp non invertor now and your using pattern the same and there is no change in the other house appliances.

Yep, single story terrace, which means back to back installation on the word '23ft' is out of question. Possible on the yellow box placement though. I've put up one in the middle room, and pull the pipe all the way to the outside wall at the back of my house, damn ugly. Masa ni bangang lagi so tak pikir what would the end result is.

What is wrong with 2in1 compressor? I am thinking to combine 1 compressor (1 already have, outside, slightly lower than the yellow box) to living room indoor unit and main bedroom indoor. They way I see it now, that is all the space I have.

I have plaster ceiling, don't know how thick it is.
*
Since is 1 storey, then all piping and wiring can go through ceiling. If the technician cannot redo the plaster, then you have engage a plaster ceiling guy to patched up the hole.

Since you have an existing 2 in 1 unit, then go ahead.

This will be my 1st air con unit in the house. Will the Panasonic standard inverter be a good choice to start with since the EER is better compare with other brand? I am only use it for maybe 20-30 hours per week when work from home.
*
People said is about long daily usage hours and not weekly. I dont use one, so no comment.

To me, the hype about invertor savings is forgotten after few months of usage.

guys..would like to know your opinion..

would like to install a 1.5hp inverter in a bedroom..roughly 10x10 feet..
is it ok? or need just 1hp...some calculators point me to use 1.5hp...others only 1.0hp...

can i know where i can get list of all 5star energy efficiency home appliances..
*
1hp will do unless your room ceiling is super high like some old houses.

Any electrical appliances shop should be able to assist you.

Is RM175 a reasonable price to diagnose problem and change capacitor? Its for a 1hp split unit where the compressor is outside upstairs but it didn't take long for the repair guy to fix, seemed experienced at balancing himself on the roof.

Also how much does it normally cost to clean/service airconds?
*
Ok ... for the physicsl risk.

RM150 onwards.

QUOTE(imbibug @ Aug 19 2020, 10:16 AM)
When I had a chat with the aircond service person, he said that current models are less reliable than before. And he suggested cheaper less fancy models which have less points of failure compared to higher end models which have more sensors/features that can break. He said that more current models fail more often at the pcb which makes repair/replacement unfeasible due to the cost.

If your fan hook is in the middle, esp for rooms, do not buy those 56in diameter fan if you are considering ceiling height wardrobe ... look into those 42in or baby fan.

QUOTE(blanket84 @ Sep 11 2020, 12:02 AM)
All your rooms are narrow including the living & dining. Your best option is 40”-42” fan which the best looking you could get would be Alpha Alkova Series.

Wondering the extended warranty up to 4 years is from panasonic itself or the shop that you bought the aircond?
*
Extended warranty ia like motor insurance policy. In the event of a breakdown, the insurance co will pays for the repair. Read the tnc properly as it do contain exclusion clauses.
