You wont regret installing a 2 HP inverter AC for the master bedroom. Cools the room within 15 mins on a hot day, 10 mins in the evening. IMHO smile.gif

For bedroom Inverter is a MUST. It's the constant temperature and quietness that I like best.

The new models are Daikin GA, which is actually the old YORK. The new YORK ACs are now rebadged from Midea or Haier.

The older Daikin is from Daikin Thailand, which is also the original Daikin.

Daikin Malaysia does sell the original Daikin, which is directly from Japan. Just that you need to pay a hefty price tag and it comes only with R32 refrigerant.

Compare to Daikin and Daikin Ga, Daikin definitely is better but Daikin GA is good as well just that we are used to people saying Daikin AC very quiet and we got the same assumption when we buy Daikin GA AC. But that is not the case, buying Daikin GA AC is actually buying the older YORK AC. YORK AC are not meant to be quiet, it is meant to  be powerful and cold albeit slightly noisier than DAIKIN AC.

Everything is the same as the older YORK AC except the compressor. You can try to import Daikin AC from Thailand if you want the quietness. There is no doubt Daikin AC Inverter is the quietest among all the other brands of inverter available.

You can always ask the AC contractors around. They will tell you that Daikin is the quietest for the inverter range.

Thanks for the heads up.

You are right, I have a few original Daikin AC and they are really quiet. In fact, they are even quieter than my Panasonic AC. Daikin GA is not as refined as the original Daikin. I guess we do not have a choice and have to pay a premium if we want the original Daikin. R32 availability in Malaysia is still an unknown as well.

I install a 1.5hp Daikin inverter R32 refrigerant in Master room  3 years ago.. I go buy Daikin because it is the only inverter that still use R32 and no need change piping or hack the wall.. This is a replacement  to Old Toshiba air con.. Choose inverter to save $ in long run......still kicking strong..

Current new condo.. I choose the Panasonic inverter aircon.. bought 1HP 2pcs and 1.5HP for Master room.... Maybe the new gas greener R410 better and the free gift 3pcs Luminar Pot really attractive..

I left Living hall not yet install aircon.. see how first .. maybe later install.. Daikin inverter 2.0Hp how much?

Why would low or auto causes a problem?

Is it only related to daikin or in general?

Auto speed will off for some time
Suggest to use medium speed for daily use. If low speed suggested to use with ceiling fan.

This is indeed weird. Never heard such things b4. The lower the temp n higher the fan speed mean higher utilization n bill right? N wats the point of sleeping in an overly cold room? You will not have a decent rest.

If using it on low speed n high temperature causes a problem then wouldn't that sound like a manufacturing defect?

Hopefully some sifu's here can shed more light

According to his, the best is to put lowest temp if using low speed fan.
Best if using with fan.
