hi all...noob question here...so assuming for my master bedroom or living room which is quite large in size.... what is the impact of me choosing 1.5hp vs 2hp aircond?

if i choose 2hp, it is supposed to cool faster, and if i use 1.5hp, it cools slower but then it also means 1.5hp uses less electricity than 2hp...

so in the end...can i say power consumption wise, it should be around the same, but 2hp cost more upfront to buy compare to 1.5hp aircond? and it's just the tradeoff of faster/slower cooling time?

Hi mini orchard, I bought CU-PU12XKH which is Panasonic 1.5HP inverter but unfortunately it’s not cold at all after install.

Wondering do you have any idea what’s the problem with the unit? They do install about 6 feet extra copper on the outside compressor with 12.70mm diameter dew point brand copper.

I had called them to come and check tomorrow but in the mean time just worry they might say it needs to claim warranty. The installer just installed yesterday around 4pm

Outdoor fan turning but not sure whether it’s hot air or not because this unit is second floor, the compressor hang outside which is not accessible easily.

It is normal if the unit is faulty although on the spot I tel them. They just can proceed to claim warranty instead of replace 1 to 1?

Just an update for my problem.

Technician came over and see nothing wrong. They not sure what to do as the gas level is 140-150.

Then, they said because my copper size is 12.6mm which is bigger than what is required for the aircond, that’s why it’s not cold.

So now they just pump more refrigerator gas and change the input current to 5.2A because my copper tube is bigger in diameter.

I’m quite worried about the 5.2A as my aircond should be operate at 4.9A. The boss said max input is 7.1A so it’s safe.

Boss said if you expect it to be cold in hot weather day, it’s quite impossible.. hmmm… he use thermometer to check, the aircond now is 19 degree Celsius near blower than I set 16 and max fans. And my room temperature is 27 which he said is totally fine. He mentioned an acceptable range is 8 degree Celsius from blower to room.

Ouch. Mine is exactly same as yours. The piping is one size bigger than what is required. Mine is 1.5hp but using 2.0hp piping. I thought of futureproof because currently I install for my tenant and I’ll be installing 2.0hp in the future for myself.

And the boss told me inverter has humming jet sound is normal?

I am using Panasonic Inverter and Sharp Inverter. The humming jet-like sound is normal as it is more apparent on the Sharp unit when I switch on. The fan will run at high speed along with plane/jet sound at high pitch. For the Panasonic similar sound but more tone down.

Hi all, I'm currently in the midst of selecting air conditioning units for my new home and shortlisted some brands with some inputs. Requesting your opinions and advice.

I'm getting 1 unit cassette 2.5/3hp
4 or 5 units split type ranging from 1hp to 2.5hp.
All inverter units

I was looking at reliability and also IOT functions via WiFi.

Brands
1. Daikin - my preferred choice however noticed that the WiFi app has pro and normal(free) subscription. New users get 2 years of pro then need to pay about rm11.99 per unit/Yr. Pro has usage monitoring and also out of home power on ac function ie out home WiFi network. I'm not a big fan of having to pay yearly subscription for an app...
2. Panasonic - I like their features, don't see any requirement for payment for app usage. Heared that their quality had dropped recent years (true?). Price is the most expensive so far.
3. Acson - contractor recommended to me saying Daikin little brother . I don't have much info on this so wanted to know if this brand has any pertinent issues? How's the app usage?
4. Hitachi - contractor informed me hitachi gives longest warranty. Wanted to know more if its a good brand, spare part availability and their IOT app review?

hi yo, need advice frm sifus here. my room and my sis room using sharp same model aircond. my room is slightly bigger than hers, maybe 1 more single bed size empty space only. her aircond is working well, mine is like so hard to get cool, it only work like an aircond when i turn it between 16-17. my sis aircond compressor is just outside, then mine at same place too but longer piping to my room (pipe is sealed inside, apartment unit).

may i know what's the problem huh? is it my aircond is faulty model? it happens since day 1, then i ask technician check they said no problem.

Any advice on conceal aircond? The cons especially for maintenance?

I have a big living room with poor insulation and will leaked out to upper floors through the staircase. Should I get an inverter or non inverter in this case?

Does that mean for open spaces it doesn't matter much if inverter or non?
