You can see from the photos the original 1.5hp piping and the reducer connector to the 1hp compressor.

Hey guys, can you use Daikin, York and Acson remote differently with the same design?

Like York on Daikin.
Then Acson on Daikin.

I told my principal but she won't trust me.
I tried to use York on Daikin but got beep then principal gave warning said different one.
*
For different brands, I dont think is possible.

Same brands, different hp or model... pana ok.

Oh. I thought Daikin, Acson and York are universal to each other.

Like same remote use for other brand.
Seen like Acson, Daikin and York remote look the same.
And the air conditioner still receive the beep from different brand remote.

And also, using ori remote instead of phone IR Blaster remote app control is better?
*
Looks tbe same is not necessary the same.

I always never encourage mixed brands for a single place. When troubleshooting for a single brand, one can swap components to find a possible fault.

hello everyone, wondering if you can help me here. my in-laws want to fit a new aircon in their terrace house living room, but gap between the ceiling cornice and curtain railing is too small, it can only fit the ceiling mounted type like this:

https://www.lazada.com.my/products/daikin-r...7706622028.html

it's quite rare to see this these days, was wondering if you guys know what's a good brand/model to recommend? looking at a 2.5hp non inverter for this unit. so far i can only find acson and daikin.
*
Similar to those medium size offices look alike. One of my friend office still using 2 units (I think is York or Acson) for long time when he took over a subsale office unit.

If the living hall is small or square or a low ceiling, it looks odd. You may also need to remove the ceiling fan or reposition the lighting.

People sitting under and near the AC will not feel the cool air compare to the vent of a wall unit.

Hi morning... recently i extended my yard into glass house, installed exhaust fan and one fan. main purpose is for my cats. The glass tinted already and also put blinds/aircond, but with current weather, my cats are suffering.. pity them so hot..

so i am planning to add aircond, for really hot day. preferably with wifi, so i can control when i am not at home. the space is 22 ft X 8 ft.

Question:
Is 1HP sufficient?
Any recommendation?

I saw Daikin 1HP inverter smart control price ranging from RM1000 up not including installation...
*
2hp or higher.

I doubt an invertor is good for hot day.

ouch. 2HP is pricey. any other creative alternative or suggestions? the area can be closed off into two separate area, so maybe 1HP is suitable for one closed off area perhaps? main objective is to keep temp between 22-24C. Now temp can reach up to 40C
*
Glass house concept is not suitable for our climate.

The current house exhaust fan is not strong enough to draw out the hot air. You need a commercial exhaust fan.

Create an indoor garden and a pond so that the cat can 'shelter' during hot days.

Hello, if my balcony rail/fence is build using concrete, is it suitable to place aircon outdoor unit on balcony floor?

the outdoor unit will be facing the side so have whole balcony room for air, but the height of the rail/fence will completely block the outdoor

Facing outwards is the norm but if space is limited, then place it where is second best.

The space is good enough for the hot air circulation but some may 'seep' inside the house through the sliding door.

I recently moved in to a new condo where the air conditioners came standard from the developer.

I don't like the model of that air conditioner nor the placement where it is mounted. I would love to change the placement but due to piping and electrical issues I would rather not do so for dust control reasons.

The air conditioner provided is a Daikin 2HP inverter that uses R410 refrigerant. I would like to use a Samsung Windfree 1.5hp that uses R32 refrigerant.

According to the electrical shop that is selling the air conditioner, all that needs to be done is to remove the old unit and fit on the new unit. The condo's air conditioning contractor said the pipes must be replaced first.

Who is right and who is wrong here?
*
Piping size for 1, 1.5 and 2 hp are different.

QUOTE(leebaix999 @ Mar 24 2022, 05:13 PM)
what is the standard price for 2.0HP installation and 18ft conceal copper?
*
There is no standard pricing. Depending on how the piping runs and how much hacking and replastering.

Can range from 800 above incl installation .... my estimation.

Is it okay to just install outdoor unit right beside the aircond? Outside my living room. What is the down side of this?
*
Depending on brands and hp, some outdoor units are noisy and one can hear the noise from inside.

Another minor problem is the dripping water from the outdoor unit.

Have it further away can reduce the noise but some may not like the sight of the long 'black' piping.

Hi guys, if my main concern is looking at reducing electrical bill to a minimum without sacrificing my aircon needs (wfh+sleep usage)

Is it correct to look at Annual average energy consumption when it comes to purchasing aircon, with the lower the better?

I find sharp J-inverter to be at 789 kwh while Daikin FTKU annual average energy consumption higher than sharp. Does that mean sharp consume lower power?
*
Specs are tested in ideal condition. Is difficult to justify in actual usage due to many variables.

I see, given the two options above, may I know which would you recommend? Both are priced quite similarly with RM200+/- difference

Sorry I cant comment as I dont use both brands.

If you scroll back some pages, there are some comments on both.

Hi guys, any good selection of aircond for bedroom that is about 10x14? It’s for my tenant so most probably looking for something is reliable. Thanks!

And is it standard for installation cost to be rm220 and rm16 per foot run for copper?

I already have the electrical point as there is an aircond last time at same placement.

Thanks for the guideline.

Is 10 feet free copper means Back to Back install? because this is the only installation that they can provide free whenever I ask from shop to shop.

Are these two models good enough?

CS/CU-PN12WKH or CU-PU12XKH

Wanted to pick one of this for my tenant
*
Depend on outdoor unit placing, if is 'actually' back to back, it might not need the free copper piping. The existing indoor unit piping is good enough.

10ft is quite long if to place the outdoor unit further away.

Generally, Pana a reliable brand.

Hi guys. In my flat I have 1.5HP hitachi in living room, and 1.5HP acson in bedroom. After regular servicing, the hitachi goes on colder for longer. The acson on the other hand, after a month or two seems “lacklustre”, no “kick” like the hitachi if ya know what I mean. Like myvi gen 1 aircond vs later gen. Often have to crank up maximum, and sometimes depending on weather still not cold enough. The hitachi performs like new in comparison, even though i’ve had it almost 10 years

Are brands like acson like that? Maybe it is time to change it to another hitachi?
*
Living and bed rooms are two different variables. One is 'enclosed' and the other 'open' concept.

All AC are not the same no matter the same category.

Both 1.3 myvi and a saga in a race will only have a winner.

Are u saying ascon is inferior to hitachi?
*
No.

You cant compare both because your living room may be 300 sf and bedroom is only 150 sf. So the acson is underpower for the hall usage. Even using the same brand will have different result.

'Age' of each AC also determines the wear and tear .... efficiency.

Hitachi is in my hall and is older
Ascon is in my smaller room and newer

Hitachi is colder

Call tech to check for any small gas leakage.

As mentioned earlier, there are many variables. A newer AC compressor can also 'kaput' due to frequent usage. Rooms can be daily and the hall only when necessary.

There is no definite answer but many possibilities.

I’m undecided between 1.5hp or 2hp.

Room size 14ft x 14ft and ceiling height 11ft totaling 200sqft. 4 Led 24watts Downlight. Sliding door 10ft which is closed all the time.

Should I get 1.5 or 2hp Panasonic Xdeluxe?
*
1.5hp. Brand and features, you decide. Generally Pana ok.

Thanks. Will go with 1.5.
Was abit concern as when the Panasonic HP calculator is marginal between 1.5 and 2hp
*
Calculator dont take into consideration of other external variables like facing west, electronic equip that generate heat, extreme hot weather, no of people using the room etc.

A 1.5 may need to set at 20 compared to a 2hp at 25.

If you have one or few of those variables, then you can consider a 2hp.

Hi. Yea facing west. So need 2.0hp instead and advisable?
*
Depending on your budget and also the outcome you want.

1.5 may take longer time to cool tbe room compared to a 2hp.

Let me share an example in my place ... a 2sty house.

Master room is 2hp. Room 1 is 1hp, about 40% smaller. If I turn on both same time, medium fan @ 23, the difference in master room can be felt in a shorter time.
