QUOTE(stormer.lyn @ Feb 14 2024, 03:30 PM) You know, or you assume it will rattle? Not trying to argue here, but I would rather not trust reviews based on someone who has never used the product at all, and is just giving their anecdotal assumption I am not assuming nor stating nor giving personal review based on anecdotal assumption that it will rattle, just raising concern if it might rattle as I did use Midea aircond before (at my rented unit), not this particular model; and even that unit had annoying rattle sound from the air cond vane & front panel. I added Some foam padding here n there did help quiet down the noise. This post has been edited by dayalan86: Feb 14 2024, 03:55 PM

QUOTE(Benefon @ Feb 14 2024, 04:04 PM) How come still worst than my old York or Ascon. 🤣 My kampung York inverter more than 12 years right now, still getting well and not much rattle noisy or like metal cracking sound on the midnight You check the quality of plastic used on current new units, all brands nowadays tend to have thinner plastic material. Very fragile and somewhat filmsy. This York model can last for really long time, we still have two units at home. Just that power consumption is high.

QUOTE(Benefon @ Feb 15 2024, 12:09 PM) Basically York plastic qaulity much better than the Panasonic and Hitachi, pana fan coil cover very thin, at midnight can hear cracking metal sound, if non inverter lagi worst. Panasonic front cover and daikin almost the same. Thin until can crack on the spot when remove down for washers. Outdoor unit still made with steels not much issue, except the size reduce become getting small and smaller nowadays, especially 1hp to 1.5hp Outdoor unit Size reduce due to the type of refrigerant use. Even sharp new unit plastic is fragile. The Midea design is interesting, the older York (now Daikin) design used to have 2 or 3 screws and easy access to remove front plate ; making service a breeze. My own sharp unit comes out in multiple pieces and is a nightmare to clean, I guess that's why many service guys don't prefer Sharp units.
