Hi. Is the Panasonic nanoe Airconds worth it? Has the added function of purifying the air without needing the cooling function.
*
An air cond can never be a air purifyer and vice versa. Both machines work differently. The filter medias of the two machines are different !

So ur saying the function Panasonic advertised is just a gimmick?
*
A company can claim anything about their machine can do but in reality, a layman can never measure it.

A claim is made because it is tested with certain conditions ... a 10% good result is as good a claim and not a gimmick !

👌🏻

So wondering if that’s worth the extra cost.
*
Air purifying is about the filtering medias ... hepa and carbon which is not found in ac.

Is this standard price?

1. Install copper pipe in small apartment (with some hacking)
2. 1 panasonic 1hp inverter XPU10WKH
3. 1 panasonic 1.5hp non-inverter PN12WKH
4. Install 2 brackets to hold the compressors

Worth 4.5k? Or am i being overcharged?
*
Source for two other quotations and you will know. However, each installer workmanship is different. Is difficult to put a price for a good job.

Use till koyak, then change. Are you willing to take RM100 ?

1st year there is warranty, worry about it during the 2nd year.

Doubt the brand is so teruk cannot last more than a year .

I got Samsung 1hp model AR09NRF (R410) taken out from other house.. upon reinstall on new place.. aircond man said outdoor unit coils spoiled.. better buy new aircond..  bangwall.gif

The aircond only been used for 2 years.. issit wise to just get any brand outdoor unit with similar specs to replace the spoiled unit?
*
New or used unit ?

All parts in ac can be replaced ... is only about cost.

If is same brand, is possible as I have replaced my 1 5hp outdoor with a 1hp.

I saw my AC installer installed my AC today. I saw inside the indoor unit there is a big piece of polystyrene. Is that part supposed to be removed before installation, or it is part of the indoor unit?
*
Yes ... is to prevent damage to the unit during transportation.

The polystyrene part was screwed on the indoor unit itself. At the back where the trench for the copper tubing is.

My contractor giving excuse that because I ask him to do individual insulation for the copper tubing, the gap become larger. But then why the gap at the top is also larger than usual?
*
Is not necessary to have individual insulation for tubing.

The extra insulation prevent the easy grip of the casing on the wall metal plate at the tubing area. More pressure is applied to have the grip, hence lifted the upper part.

@ceo684 the local taiko

Nubis kubis here asking for opinion on 2 Panasonic Aircon’s. My developer giving me 2 Aircon’s free
1hp Panasonic cspn9vkh &
2hp pnanasonic cspn18kvh

Wondering if it’s worth the top up to upgrade to these models ?
1hp inverter standard cspu9vkh &
2hp standard inverter cspu18kvh

Also, the supplier pushing the x-deluxe inverter on me .
Any benefits over the standard inverter ?

My priority good cooling and energy saving. Don’t care much fir air purifying stuffs
*
How much more it cost to top up for 1hp and 2 hp ?

Project pricing is much much lower than normal market pricing. If is 50% or more to market pricing, in my opinion is not worth it.

Anyway, the decision is yours.

Energy savings ?..... will leave it to the experts to comment.

hi all sifus,I 've read through  this post and is looking at the Sharp AHX9VED2 ,so I went to a Expo exhibition  last weekend ,almost all the aircon seller were shocked by me asking for Sharp ,they strongly advised me to not go for Sharp
Reasons:
1. Sharp is going to close down
2. All OEM products (aircons)
3. Terrible aftersales service from their/customer experiences(This is the first thing they mentioned whenever I bring up the Sharp brand)

Anyone can share some insight? Is Sharp really that bad?

Different customers have different experieces with CS. If you like to try the brand, just go for it ...afterall is personal preference. It takes to own their product to know about the co and their level of after sales service.

Need recommendation for a/c

Small room, no exhaust fan, 1 windows (but only able to open about 4-5 inches).

temp need to set at around 26-27C , operation almost 24 hrs.

Best energy saving
*
There is no ac manufacturer that can claim its product is the best compared to other brands. Product specs is only as good as its printed on the brochures.

Preference brand is about individual experience. If you have none, then you have to trust what other users said or to try own 1st experience.

Reliability and after sales service is my priority over energy savings for a 24 hours workhorse.

Hello Sifus,
Not sure if this is appropriate to ask here, several AC sellers I approached told me Pana and Daikin are out of stock in the market... not sure if this is a marketing gimmick or sales push strategy. Am looking for 8 units as part of my house reno. Can anyone share/PM reliable seller contacts?
Thanks!
*
There are no reasons for sellers to hold back stock if you agreed to their price. High stock inventory is dead money.

Buy from those authorised resellers selling pana or daikin and not from those selling mixed brands. If they still dont have stock, then is manufacturers problem.

Not sure if this is the right thread to ask.

Do you guys tint your windows? Personally I will be using those blind that prevents light from coming in, but not sure if still need to tint? Effect really good?

Current house has tint but I bet it loses effectiveness already since over 20 years. Not sure if aircon good enough.

Appreciate if you guys can intro too the tint you use if indeed tint is very much a necessity. Thanks.

For aircon, yes indeed a lot of inverter aircons running out, so they say. In fact a lot of electronic stores always say this run out that run out. But when you really put money to where your mouth is, they will say get stock from their competitor etc and even give you a competitive price... lol.

For my hall (don't really know size, double storey terrace), I plan to use 2 1.5HP aircons because the in-build pipes already there and we will also install Fan. One inverter and one normal. The idea is once somewhat cool enough I will switch off the 1.5 normal one and leave only the inverter one on. Or is it I must use 2HP?
*
Which half past six ac dealer will do business like you mentioned?

Most important whether buyer agreed to selling price.

If buyer willing to pay double and put the money in seller's mouth, die die also he will try to find one unit !

My new kondo have a 1HP aircon in living room and 1HP aircon in dining room.

I am doing renovation, want to change new aircon. Is it wise to just place one 2HP aircon in living room and cancel the dining room aircon (living room & dining room is together)

Thanks
*
No.

Hey all,
Is there something like a smarthome solution  I could use to take control of aircond temperature? Due to WFH, we sometimes have 4 AC running during day time, but some of them always set temperature at the lowest causing the electric bill to choak up. I would like to maintain temp in between 22 to 25 celcius for some of the AC units.
*
What you are facing is users problem.

User can always reset temp manually unless the App can 'lock' it.

I know. Even using phone with IR can replace the remote control. That's why I am looking if there is any solution to somehow do parental control on the AC.
*
Set on/off timer with preset temperature. You keep the remote.

Hi all, it's getting hot nowadays. I am staying in a double story house. Thinking of installing a 2.5hp Air Cond unit in my living room, which actually combined with dining and kitchen area making it quite a sizeable area.

Anyway, my main concern is with a staircase opening where the cool air will surely escape through upstairs. Any idea how what kind of door can be installed to seal it and access the staircase when needed?

Photo of staircase as per below..

Not a big concern. My space is bigger. If you are concern, use string curtains. My hall ac temperature is set at 23.

Instead of 2.5hp, install 2 units ... 2hp for the hall and 1 or 1.5 for the dinning kitchen area. That is what I did .... faster cooling for the whole house. When cooling is felt, I will off either one.
