Hi. Anyone using panasonic x-deluxe inverter series? I have one 1.5hp in masterroom and i notice during midnight the room will not be so cold as initial start up. First few hours, i can feel the room is cold but during midnight when sleeping my wife and i feel is warm. I notice the compressor fan run slowly and sometime it stops then continue back in slow mode. Is there any issue or normal behaviour of this x-deluxe inverter aircond?🤔 temperature set is 23-25c with ceiling fan on speed 2

For my another panasonic non inverter unit 1hp and sharp inverter , the coldness is chilly cold even can feel it when open the door and stays the same until next morning.🤔

why u need to on the ceiling fan alongwith the aircond? It will disrupt the air flow.

And also u might need to service your aircond.

Hello everyone,

I was surveying for my new house wall mounted aircond installation and would like to ask your opinion/comments/feedback with below quote,

I will need 3 units of 1/1.5HP airconds for bedrooms, 3 units of 2/2.5HP airconds for master bedroom & living hall.

Panasonic Standard Inverter (PU series):
1HP-RM1400
1.5HP-RM1700
2HP-RM2800
2.5HP-RM3000

Panasonic X-Deluxe (XPU series):
1HP-RM1700
1.5HP-RM2000
2HP-RM3000
2.5HP-RM3400

Panasonic X-Premium (XU series):
1HP-RM1800
1.5HP-RM2200
2HP-RM3500
2.5HP-RM3900

Daikin Standard Inverter (FTKF series):
1HP-RM1400
1.5HP-RM1700
2HP-RM2900
2.5HP-RM3200

Midea Xterme Save Inverter (MSXS series):
1HP-RM1100
1.5HP-RM1400
2HP-RM2000
2.5HP-RM2700

installation fee for 1-1.5HP is RM200 while 2-2.5HP is RM230 per unit

Thanks.

Any thoughts for Mitsubishi user JS inverter series?
2 years indoor + 7 years outdoor warranty

1 HP - MSY-JS10VF - RM1.5k
1.5 HP - MSY-JS13VF - RM1.7k

Seems like these model pricing quite reasonable

Hence I'm also comparing to either get multi split or individual split. My requirements would be 2x 1HP INV and 1x 1.5HP INV.

For instance, I saw Daikin MULTI SPLIT Inverter MKC series(R32) MKC50RVM that can accomodate 2 X 1HP INV + 1 X 1.5HP INV.
RM4099.

Panasonic pricing quite a huge jump.

Any suggestions are welcomed.

I would say "NO", you are not consuming less than 250W on average. My take would be that with the compressor totally OFF, this is the power used for the electronics, the blower, LEDs, etc, or this is already the average power usage with the compressor turning ON and OFF. If you were to be using less than 250W on average, I am sure the manufacturer will have a * on the specifications, leading to a fine print disclaimer because all manufacturers would want to have lower power consumption in their specifications.

Of course this is only my opinion based on my enginerding qualifications, there having to be some truth in advertising (or the manufacturer could get sued), and also a bit of knowledge on how the industry labels power consumption
*
Very insightful. Thank you.

With modern panasonics, that would happen if you have econavi on. The aircond would also raise temperature if you put it on sleep mode. Is it possible you have on either of these?

The setting is normal. no econavi or eco mode being used. Just switch on and let it run. The less cold feeling occur around midnight while I am not sure if its related to the outdoor compressor fan speed is more slower than initial startup. If so, i think is energy saving...?

Should be bolted. My unit sounded like motorboat at first. Contacted manufacturer, the sent in people to properly fix the odu to the bracket, and it's been fine since.

if not mistaken, there's small rubber dampener under the odu, to reduce any vibration sound. else your whole bracket will motorboat together haha, i had mine old ac 10 yrs old changed, totally silent after that

Hi need some advice on aircond HP,

my master bedroom is 40m2 size ceiling height 3m, window facing sunrise, not facing sunset and doesnt gets much sun. Roof is concrete tiles and insulated. doesnt feel hot during sunny afternoon, no walls exposed to the sunset, all walls feel cool at night.

Now based on aircond guy it needs 2HP, but i want to ask second opinion.

Me and my wife doesnt on very cold, 25++ deg C, and don't on overnight, i just on to cool a bit and mainly to remove any humidity in the room for a comfortable condition to fall asleep.

aircond guy says the 2hp will cool faster and the inverter will lower down the HP quicker thus save more electric and better lifespan for the compressor.

Any opinions? tq

2 HP (~18,000 BTU) calculates about right for me for a room sized 40 m². I definitely won't want to undersize the a/cond

Ditto the aircond guy. AC is a long term investment. You don't want to own a subpar (underpowered) device for 10 years, lest it prematurely breaks down.

Hmm if the roof doesn't contribute much of heat load then should be okay..
My rumaweep 24m2 also got ppl complain not cold with 1.3hp (12000btu) and 2.0hp is just nice for 24m2 (8m long x 3m wide) living room in rumaweep

If price not a problem go for 2.5hp INVERTER.
Because your room is more than 50% bigger volume than my rumaweep living room..I sked you will have similar issue like some of my neighbours cheaping out on the living room AC

Need to account for hot day too.. and use tropicalised calculator

Slightly undersize is OK but way undersize just regretful (unless install another additional one).

I'm using the notes from my a/cond certification course. Is there a better tropicalised calculator out there you mind sharing? Hopefully from an independent source, not from a manufacturer (that wants you to buy the biggest a/cond they sell, right? The Daikin calculator puts this room at 30,000+ BTU requirement!)

I agree with you, 40 m² is 430 sq ft, which is as big as a studio apartment. Given that the poster asking says they only like it 25°C ++, they may be better off installing 2 units for better spread of the cool air due to furniture/obstructions.

Usually I like to use this to size up - and turn the options to hot/sunny worst case scenarios to mimic Msian weather
https://www.calculator.net/btu-calculator.h...=room&x=58&y=27

Its quite representative for 25C target.
The D calc is used when user is looking for 16C target temp condition. wink.gif

Oh, so you use calculator.net? That's a pretty common starting point, before we use experience and local conditions to further tune the a/cond sizing.

Just want to point out that with your parameters, the result is 17,142 BTU, which is slightly below most 2 HP a/conds (which are rated about 18k BTU) You wanting to oversize the a/cond unit is your preference, which I think you should have explained. But you have to give the initial tech his due for recommending the 2 HP unit, because it is the correct rating according to size calculations.

I still think the original poster (Edit to add dest9116) will be better off using 2 a/cond units for 40 m² though.*
