Any recommendation for 1HP air conditioner with WiFi with budget around RM1,400?
Btw, has anyone tried using Xiaomi/Acara gateway to link the aircon to Xiaomi/Mijia app?

Is Panasonic Dry Mode as efficient as the old National airconds? What I noticed is it seems the older ancient models could remove humidity much better. The Dry Mode actually has this feature where the blower will stop, roll, stop, roll, for a few dozen times before the compressor stops when temperatures achieved. Panasonic nowadays lack this.

To get that answer intra-brand and inter-brand, one should compare the AC's dehumidifying capacity. Not all AC are created equal. Coil sizes also shrink in the economy range nowadays. |

Does anyone know how to reduce compressor noise from being heard inside the room? We have a Louvre style windows bedroom, the type of window pane like our government classroom. We mounted the compressor outside directly under the Louvre window and we could hear a constant humming and whirring of the motor even when inside is set to Quiet Mode it is even more audible.

Compressor running sound .... no. Depending on brands, some are noisier.Rattling sound ... tighten any lose screws or insert rubber damper in between metal. |

QUOTE(yurie @ Feb 1 2022, 10:08 PM) Noise like this? Not the same brand, but it was the noise that causes me sold off after a month and getting inverter aircond. Inverter aircond still have noise but it wasn't constant, it will turn down the compressor after 15-30 mins. To be honest coming from older gen R22 ac, I found these newer gen R32 compressor are noisy, 2 different brands, inverter and non inverter (non inverter the worst). |

QUOTE(yurie @ Feb 1 2022, 10:08 PM) Non invertor ac tend to be louder during operation. Well, you can do something to counter the noise ... 1. Use earplugs. 2. Reposition the outdoor further away, 3. Change to casement window type I wont go to the extend changing ac with no guarantee as either the above should minimise the noise. Original placing .. New placing I move to new place because many tech ladder have difficulty to reach the outdoor unit for servicing. This post has been edited by mini orchard: Feb 2 2022, 07:52 AM |

Guys/Gals.
Between Panasonic CS-XPU/CS-XU or Daikin FTKU/FTKH 1) Which of this two Brand/Model are easier to dismantle, access the blower unit to DIY clean? 2) Which have a higher energy-efficient Digital Inverter that helps to reduce energy consumption? |

QUOTE(senscents @ Feb 5 2022, 07:29 PM) Guys/Gals. I use Panasonic all the while, so basically I'm familiar with up to removing the blower. The current XPU/XU is even less steps than the older Panasonic model.Between Panasonic CS-XPU/CS-XU or Daikin FTKU/FTKH 1) Which of this two Brand/Model are easier to dismantle, access the blower unit to DIY clean? 2) Which have a higher energy-efficient Digital Inverter that helps to reduce energy consumption? Hi all wanna ask.
I calculated BTU in my room at 8000btu. A 1hp Daikin is 9000btu and 1hp Panasonic is 9400btu. Is this sufficient? Generally how much tolerance of btu is required so that the a/c don’t over run? |

QUOTE(JasonTheGreat @ Feb 7 2022, 12:13 AM) A 1hp is more than enough if this room is not excessively heated (top floor of DSL, or made up of directly west facing wall). You should get a proper 5 star ST inverter e.g. Sharp AHX9VED2 With 9700btu Cooling Capacity (BTU): 9700 (3070 - 10000) Price around 1369 on shopee mall. Most of the standard inverter (basic model) cost cutting and you can't get a 5 star AC with cheap price these days. That D with P/N FTKH 4 star and 9000btu rated not worth the price.
