Hi Everyone

I just bought Panasonic inverter Deluxe X series A/C and then my installer say Inverter A/C need extra charges for installation because need to
include somethin called "Hak Foh" in cantonese, the extra charges is RM125 per A/C. Does this makes any sense? I thought regardless Inverter or Non-inverter they were the same rate.

BTW the unit I want to install is just a <1000sqft Condo

i know inverter need thicker copper maybe thats why? wat is Hak Foh if translated?

Not sure what's that as well, but RM125 on top of non-inverter unit making any sense?

They are referring to additional wire for inverter control.
Hakfor = neutral cable in contractor speak.

Price reference 2.5mm2 mega cable 100m is rm120
1.5mm2 100m is rm80

Hi Sifu.. need some advice. last time MCO.. so no buy aircond now open back then start survey back my aircond..

that day I went Daikin Million Dealer to ask quote. they tell me my terrace house all use non inverter is enough. no need inverter. they told me inverter model cant save much.. they ask me to get FTV-P.. 2.5HP for living (open kitchen).. 1.5HP for master and 1.0HP for bedroom.. this model okay? good buy?

then i did went to another aircond shop to ask quote too. they told me living room best get Daikin as they cool faster.. they also say 2.5HP FTVP.. but room they suggest for Pana cause it more energy saving.. is this true? they quote me Pana Inverter Standard. they also quote me Midea MXSX series..

among these brand.. which model should i go.. family member only want these 3 brand..

For living non-inverter is enough since you not always switch on. 2.5hp inverter is very expensive.
For bedroom, better go for inverter, the difference is only RM300 to 400. Not only save on electricity, the temperature is also more stable means more comfortable.

PCB failure can happen to any brand, so far I know they already improve their PCB to withstand higher voltage.
If you don't mind the cost then FTKU is better but also more expensive. FTKF outdoor unit is very small, means the spacing between cooling fins is very close. Will be easier to catching dirt. Might need to chemical clean the outdoor more often.

FTKU 5 star ST is the better material one.. FTKF is eco series 4 star meaning buying badge only. laugh.gif

That is true. Extra wiring cost only..no additional hacking required.

oh I see.. wah.. i really din notice the ODU. How about the peak power consumption? i noticed FTKU 1.0 and 1.5 peak Watt is almost the same.. does it means that the peak watt is the power consumption when i turn on the aircon and run for first few hrs?

I see.. how about non inverter model? is it better to get FTV-A series? I just noticed the 2.5HP FTVP is using microchannel.. whereas others are using fin tube.. any different between these 2?

guys, if my home aircon mitsubishi heavy industries 1.0hp inverter, around 5-6years already, when i set 26c at night and i turn on 3d auto, i feel like the room abit warmy. i didnt turn on my fan cos i don feel like got fan blowing me when i sleep. does it means the unit maybe too low power for my room? or the thermostat for aircon got problem? if day time normally i turn on aircon 12pm-5pm i put 26c, i saw power consumption from my smart plug it almost always run at 800-900w/h.

last i ask aircon service guy to do service they clean but macam no topup air or wat.

Hey all, wanna ask you all ah, usually how much is the price for installing a new air conditioner in KV area? Cause the air conditioner repair guy came and checked my air cond and recommended me to change new air cond. the model he recommended he quoted me RM1.4K, I did a quick search on Lazada, that Panasonic model is only about RM1K, even SenHeng is selling at Rm1.2K. That’s why I’m thinking to get someone else to just install instead if that’s the case.
*
what model is that?

i got quoted for RM1550, daikin 1HP inverter including installation

Daikin for Rm1550?

I only use Panasonic, cause my family has tried plenty of other models all will go back to Panasonic. Hehe.

It’s very reliable and quiet, and they usually last for around 10 years or so, quite durable I feel. But granted that my family does proper maintenance periodically.

Yes the peak watt usually is the first hour consumption, you also need to relate to the peak cooling load (Btu/h). The ratio of power/Btuh is more important.
