Wow your Daikin is really cheap. May I know your Deluxe Daikin price is after the RM200 rebate or still can go RM200 lesser?

Hi I noticed that my aircond wiring for outdoor compressor unit is exposed. Meaning I can see the 3 colored wires and am worried abt it being exposed to the hash weather and get damanged over time. Anything can suggest something that I can insulate it with ?

Got local seller but expensive. So better import PRC stuff if not critical urgent.
Note that this is split loom usually used for cars so its usually just black (C shape cross section like slip on cover) so you just need to "clip on" the cables, NO NEED to disconnect the cables, as external protector from sun. When u install position them with the slot down facing so water can drip out.

There is cheaper flexible conduit that come in white and black (O shape cross section like pipe) which u either split one line to become C meaning u have to cut the line,
OR disconnect cables at ODU to stuff them in the pipe.

Between daikin ftkf, ftku & pana pu-xkh & xpu-wkh, which has better build quality, easier access to blower & stronger coil fins (wont easy deform when wash)?

Hello Guys!

Any AC model to recommend for a small room (like 3M wide x 5M length, idk how to calculate)
If possible, eligible for Save 2.0 Program, ceiling budget 1.3-1.4k inc installation

Legit just saw your post.. apologies for the late reply..

In regards to your questions aforementioned:

1. My room is about 400sq feet ;

2. 1.5hp x 2 units (as mentioned in my post, a 1.5hp x-deluxe and a 1.5hp x- premium.. i do have a door partition between my “living room” area of my bedroom and my actual “bed area”.. soo at one time, i only turn on 1 a.c. based on room occupancy..;

3. My usage for Hot season i.e. March till July is about 82kwh/month ( for my bed area unit) and about 20 kwh for my living area)… my preference temp is 26 degrees on high fan with auto swing)… take note that on average the unit is powered on for 7 hrs in my bed area and around 2 hrs for my living room area daily.. during rainy season, i sometimes do not turn on the a.c. Case in point: since 20/8, i’ve mostly used my ceiling fan as my room temp hovers around 26 degrees at night and around 24 in the early morning.. KK has been raining extensively lately ( i live next to a forest area and with the rainy season, u could really feel the fresh crisp air billowing through the windows which btw have mosquito netting laugh.gif )

Short answer: outstanding energy savings.. just ensure that your set temp is achievable and your a.c. Is at the right size / oversize.. never ever undersize, then you’ll see the savings smile.gif

4. I am not really good at suggesting… however, just get yourself a 2.0hp inverter unit, it can easily match / exceed your cooling requirements.. you may never know when you need the extra oomph.. and with inverter, it’ll continually adjust the speed of the compressor to match your set temperature.. you’ll never go wrong with inverter ( unless it breaks down, so choose wisely).. I’ll always go with Panasonic or Daikin since both are manufactured in Malaysia, hence an abundance of parts and top notch after sales (based on my own experience)… for Panasonic, hands down x-premium inverter if you have the budget or to save cost, x-deluxe inverter ( the 2.0 hp model even has a left right swing compared to the 1.0 n 1.5hp models)… for Daikin, Smarto series hands down as its the only one with a streamer technology ( equivalent to Nanoe-x) and has an added PM 2.5 filter built it… but its costly vis a vis with Panasonic, you’re not getting that “bang for your buck” purchase.. Gree is another option (my sister installed a 2.0hp Queen series inverter) and it does its job well.. except the indoor unit is quite noisy (at medium to high fan speed) and the remote is mehh, the wifi function only turns the a.c. On/off, nothing fancy unlike Panasonic’s iteration.. the outdoor unit is silent though, I’ll give them that.. oh and the Gree is only 4 stars rated but at RM2150, its s bargain!!! But I still cant say how it will fare long term vs heavyweights Panasonic and Daikin.. LG is a good option too, but its quite pricey compared to locally manufactured Panasonic and Daikin (when compared to LG’s 2.0hp dual inverter premium).. the advantages include ability to control your compressor speed (at 40%, 60%, 80% or 100%) and that it has a lower operating frequency (circa 3400 btu at its lowest vs 3750 btu for the Pana x-premium… the difference is negligible though)… the LG only has 4 star energy rating though ( cant confirm this, but seen it somewhere before)…

Anyways do research and good luck on your purchase!  thumbsup.gif

Hello,

Im already install this x premium model 2hp in my master bedroom. Just wondering:
1. My room humidity keep above 60%. As i know the i auto-x function help reduce humidity below 60% right? Already using i auto-x function on 28 degree but humidity keep above 60%. Any tips?
2. How much your average kw use for a month for this model? How many hours per day average?

Thanks

Just installed the Panasonic 1.5HP XKH X-Premium 2 weeks ago to replace my 2018 1.5HP UKH X-Premium which I sold. Had to redo the piping as one of the copper pipes on the new model has reduced from the previous one. Overall have to say that the cooling performance on this new model is better then the UKH X Premium, slightly shorter in length compared to the older model but thicker in depth. Built in WLAN module is also better as opposed to the external WLAN (can be hidden in the casing of the indoor unit) which I used on the older model and the the other two 2.5HP X-Premium VKH models in my living and dining room

Since the indoor unit is installed on the right side of the room, the remote has an option to set the installation position of the unit. What it does is that it limits the angle of the left/right swing when in auto (in my case it will swing left and to the centre). It will not direct air to the right side since no cooling is needed on the right wall. Other hidden options which I've discovered is that the indicator lights can be set to "Smart" whereby the indicator lights on the indoor unit will turn off after a certain time of inactivity after pressing the remote. Pressing on the remote will turn them on for a while again before it turns off again (tried it but decided to keep the lights on so it won't look so empty"). Air filter net on this new model has also been improved greatly (more solid build and more consistent spacing of net holes) over the UKH's flimsy and inconsistent net holes, which allows dust to go through the filter.

Outdoor unit seems to be a lot quieter than the previous model. Can barely hear the compressor whirring, and it starts up faster than the older model as well. Outdoor unit fan motor has also been replaced with a DC Fan motor as opposed to the previous model's AC fan motor. It seems to increase its speed slowly, rather than going on full speed directly. Once the indoor temperature has been reached, the outdoor fan will also slow down a bit. (used the comfort cloud app and messed with the temperature settings while outside, and that was how I found out that the outdoor fan will slow down).

My only gripe with this model is the remote controller. Being a flagship model, I feel that the screen could be illuminated like the previous Sky Series remote for easier use at night.

No regrets in getting this model, just that I got a lemon unit, whereby there was a chip on the indoor casing. Panasonic replaced a new indoor unit for me (they have excellent aftersales service from my personal experience). Have also bought additional 4 year warranty from Panasonic (making all parts and labour for indoor and outdoor covered for total of 5 years).

Panasonic X-Premium Inverter & X-Deluxe Inverter has them built in now. Standard Inverter need to buy external CZ-TACG1 adaptor to use with wifi.

Yes, you are right. It has the humidity sensor working only when iAuto-X is enabled. Under cool or dry mode, it will be just a 'normal' air conditioner.

As for humidity. I also have a Panasonic air purifier with humidifier function working with the air con. When using the previous air con, the humidity display on the air purifier unit will constantly go from 60% - 70 above on it's display. For this new unit, so far it is constantly staying at 60%. Never seen the 70 above red light on the air purifier unit so far.

As I'm using laminated floorboards in my bedroom, the previous unit always gives my floor a wet sticky feeling when walking on it. On this new one so far it hasn't have it happening yet.
