Compressor runs but cut out so its not jammed and cannot even start..it lose steam whilst running so major suspect is the beercan (runcap); but u can try a wash first

It could be a 2 in 1 cap (one beercan does both start and run, it has 2 diff uF listed); or 2 pcs of single function cap (separated, single uF)

Will leave to the technician to fix. Dare not to risk myself and burn the house down.

EDIT: Monday the technician will come and see whether can fix. If spare part price cost a bomb then might get new one.
Not a fan of Electrolux, my brother chose this brand last time, I suggest Panasonic but my brother want to buy a cheaper one.
Not only H3 error, also the left and right swing also faulty. When I try to power on the socket, can hear clak clak clak sound from the swing.
Cannot avoid that cause if parts expensive. If Compressor totally gone case then bye bye to Electrolux.

The Pana CS-XPU is already inverter air conditioner. I did try to insert paper between the air conditioner body and the wall at all four corners but still have the issue. Really at lost to find out the door cause of this cracking sound

After changing to ME JS series, the cracking sound only happen during the start of air conditioner, probably due to temperature difference as you explained. After turning on air conditioner for 15-20 mins, no more constant cracking sound, but still got occasional tak sound from time to time

Some updates regarding the Electrolux air conditioner.
Called technician to fix, wash the outdoor unit with water and vacuuming does not fix this issues.
I think I guess will install a new one better as the technician cannot find what's the issue over there.
Wasted my RM50 and the issues still come back.

Today start lockdown for whole Malaysia. As technician not allowed to fix air conditioner during this period.
Panasonic released new X-Premium Inverter model which is CS-XU10XKH-1.
Got one shop quoted me for RM1849 without installation. The Save 2.0 suddenly open back for a short period.
Final price will RM1649 with the Save 2.0 promotion from the government by claiming through TNB part.
So should I reserve for full price without installation now to claim the RM200 off from the government?
As I might afraid that Save 2.0 aka RM200 off will end again.

The new model comes with built in WiFi which is a bonus for me.
I wish to get the CS-XPU10WKH-1 model but no left right auto swing.
Last time I bought Daikin FTKU series but haven't claim due to quota finished and now open back again.
Now the shop told me Daikin temporary no stock. Luckily get one for my room before OOS.
Now is my sister's room suddenly display H3. No idea the problem comes from where.
Don't wanna waste my time and money when the H3 display again after fixing.
Not only showing H3 error, left and right motor swing also spoil, can hear clak clak clak sound when auto swing.
The technician last month came said no spare part. Gonna let it go I guess. About 5 years like that.
Can't remember which year that I bought it. MCO making me headache to see Air Conditioner out of stock everywhere due to global chip shortage

I am not a fan of many features in AC. It makes trouble shooting complicated.

Your price 1649 and plus std installation 200 will be 1849. Some will charge extra for removing old AC.

This guy 1799 all in including removing old AC. Chat with him. He has stock. Only problem is installation due to lockdown.

the reason i ask first whether there's cold air first before proceed to washing the coil is to differentiate the overload cause between dirty coil or compressor no run. to save you the time and effort of washing. should fix the issues and get the aircond to run first then only consider washing the aircond.

i would still open up the outdoor unit, check the run capacitor status.

the capacitor is so easy to check and so cheap i dont understand why a technician couldnt even be bothered to check it. it cost like rm20 only the part.
open up the outdoor unit is just 4 screws.
taking out the capacitor is just pulling out 3 wires from the capacitor.
checking the health of the capacitor can be done by eye or just 1 second probe with a multimeter

I'm living in Penang. So not possible get that price.
I check variation of that price RM1799 excluding installation.
But if apply and deduct Save 2.0 voucher will be cheaper. .

The technician brought and test using refrigerant meter to test.
In the end mention outdoor unit thing dirty.
We told the guy display H3 error. Don't want to waste my time if the next technician cannot fix what's the issues.
Will try to use up the Save 2.0 voucher. Can save RM200.

if refrigerant pressure is high means either the compressor is not running or running at a slower speed than usual or dirty coil.

to differentiate the cause need to use a multimeter with amp clamp to check the amp drawn by compressor. if amp high means coil dirty, if amp low means capacitor going bad, if amp very low means compressor not running.

must be a crappy technician

Yalor. It's better for me to get a new cause if no spare parts or issues come back after repair.

a capacitor is easy to get and it is a simple issue.

if it is a leak at indoor unit which is very hard to repair......that i would seriously consider getting a new one.

My advise is to maintain one brand for the house. Not all technicians are good at troubleshooting various brands with the complexity of models nowadays.

I keep old condemed units for spare parts.

I wish to stick to one brand for the whole house. Because of my older brother very cheapskate wanna try Electrolux last time. I have no choice to let him to choose. Regret now for using Electrolux.
I recommended Panasonic but my brother refused, said too expensive.
Even we bought Panasonic Inverter for my room. Don't want to choose back Panasonic after fix the Panasonic in my parent's bedroom. I have to settle everything as I am the not the one chose the brand.

Last time my brother chose Electrolux to fix on the shoplot cause cheap ones don't mind.
In the end move to my sister's room. One by one issues came out.

Never mind bro. Will consider getting new one better.
Call one by one cannot fix. No choice have to spend more with RM200 rebate.

My parent's bedroom using Panasonic Premium Inverter Series. Around 6 years ++ which is older than Electrolux Inverter Air Conditioner. Electrolux I guess 4 - 5 years only.

Panasonic Inverter so far so good.
Just that Air Conditioner fan gets dirty quickly due to bigger hole at the top of the Air Conditioner.
Managed to wash indoor unit before lockdown.

hi aircond sifu and expert. I am planning to move in my house soon and would need some of your advice on aircond. Currently, I had narrowed down to two brands of aircond namely Panasonic & Sharp. I am contemplation whether should I use fully inverter or mix with non inverter. My plan is to install for Living Room & Masterroom only.

Between both models which of you have experience/current using is ookay? since price is more or less similar.
1. Panasonic X-Premium Inverter R32 Series
2. Sharp R32 Inverter Plasmacluster Air Cond


Usage of aircond [can say heavy]
1. Master-room [10pm to 6am] -Mon-Sun
2. Livingroom [12pm-6pm] - Weekends / and occasionally weekdays if work from home.

My plan is to mix installation
1. Master-room - 1 hp a/c Inverter [15ft x 15ft]
2. Living room - Non Inverter 2hp a/c [covers approx 15ft x 35ft]


Which of the above is likely suitable? Prefers energy savings for long term usage.

or both inverter?
