Use the same command line again, perhaps you need to manually install a Recovery El Capitan Partition.

I used the same command again. But it gives error saying that the "/" is not available or something.

Emm, I upgraded from Mavericks and bypass yosemite. So far its a blessing. Wireless searching/logging definitely faster, faster surfing experience with safari, better photo and notes app. So far no issues ...touch wood lar

Tried to update my iPhoto today and got this message instead: -

This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled.

Anyone knows a fix for this?

upgraded to el capitan for second time (MBA 13 2012). not happy. battery drain. from 50-40-10-0 in lees than 1 hour. 10% to 0% in minutes. wifi slow. opening app slow. the rainbow circle keep circling. affecting other apps. slow login. slow here and there... etc etc etc... restore back to yosemite and all fast. i'll think i'll pass el-capitan.

Why don't you use Photos instead?

Based on that error, you do not own the iPhoto app. It usually happens if you bought a second hand device, because existing apps that available for you when you bought the device are tied to previous owner Apple ID. You can still continue to use the app without updating the app if I'm not mistaken.

When you first activated your macbook, which Apple ID did you use? Try check your purchase history on iTunes. If you owned the app, you will see the app in the list.

My wifi searching is slower than before! Apps store updates is terrible. Mine was Yosemite before. Is this normal?

Whoah Sketch alone takes up about 10GB of RAM. Must have been handling a lot of processes at a time, but it doesn't look right. Maybe reinstall the app from scratch?

Try this

open terminal and type

open $TMPDIR../C/

then delete the com.apple.appstore folder

Anyone have any problem with a process called "nsurlsessiond" usually attached to iCloud, hogging their bandwidth?
