But it was difficult for me during my Atari time bcos I cannot afford to purchase the data recorder which cost almost the same price as the computer/keyboard unit. So I have to type the whole game in (code from game magazine) to play them! It took me like almost an hour depend on the type of game. More complicated game, the more code you need to type in. So like after playing for a couple of hours and you decide to stop, you switch it off and everything is gone and you need to type those code in again if you want to play them again. It was difficult but when you look back, you realized that you learn a lot from doing that.

Commodore was good too. I remembered there is one popular game (can't remember the name) and the reviewed was that its worth to purchase a commodore just to play that game!

U know, I enjoyed text based RPG game back then.

It was seriously fun because it utilizes your imagination rather than dependent on graphic.

Today's games depends on how good the graphics are and they have to keep on improving which is what forces upgrades.

the amazing thing is the size of the games are only in megabytes, very small.

On the later part where they came out with RPG monitor, there are a few nice game with graphic i.e. 4~8 color.

One of the popular one is King's Quest. You need to type in command like what unknown warrior said, i.e. go east, go north, pick this, take that.

Another one which I can't remember the name of the game, if you got frustrated and you type in the 4 letter word, you will be lock in a certain scene and cannot escape and you need to restart the game, seriously!
