Yeah, I can relate to that but important thing is it does not shaken our Faith in our belief and the rest should take time and have a clear head to handle if you know what I mean.
Oh, and Atari had the best and durable joystick!

But it was difficult for me during my Atari time bcos I cannot afford to purchase the data recorder which cost almost the same price as the computer/keyboard unit. So I have to type the whole game in (code from game magazine) to play them! It took me like almost an hour depend on the type of game. More complicated game, the more code you need to type in. So like after playing for a couple of hours and you decide to stop, you switch it off and everything is gone and you need to type those code in again if you want to play them again. It was difficult but when you look back, you realized that you learn a lot from doing that.

Commodore was good too. I remembered there is one popular game (can't remember the name) and the reviewed was that its worth to purchase a commodore just to play that game!

Ahhhh, are we deviating from chatwarrior????? laugh.gif

Duh, he must be in bed by now. . . . tongue.gif

U know, I enjoyed text based RPG game back then.

It was seriously fun because it utilizes your imagination rather than dependent on graphic.

Today's games depends on how good the graphics are and they have to keep on improving which is what forces upgrades.

Yeah, I can relate to that too.

I remembered in ATARI, there's one game where you fly B-1 bomber to bomb a certain location in Russia. They are all text base.
You press ENTER and information like distance from target, height etc will be display. So every time you just need to press ENTER to until you are near to the location to release a cruise missile. All are TEXT. No graphic! Just text and your imagination!

What the heck kind of gaming is that? Can't I just type, "I win" ?

What if the hero needs to eat or go pee?

Hack no.
On the later part where they came out with RPG monitor, there are a few nice game with graphic i.e. 4~8 color.

One of the popular one is King's Quest. You need to type in command like what unknown warrior said, i.e. go east, go north, pick this, take that.

Another one which I can't remember the name of the game, if you got frustrated and you type in the 4 letter word, you will be lock in a certain scene and cannot escape and you need to restart the game, seriously!
