Yeah Guys, looks like we were all taken for a ride on the pricing of the camry hybrid well at least some of us that is. Told by SA all over the branches in ampang, pandan, subang and klang that the CAMRY of all models will sure increase.

They keep on quoting the example of the Lexus hybrid CT 200.

Sigh... unfortunate to those who has bought it anticipating the increase in price..

But 1 big question....

Why didnt the price of the car INCREASED? Anyone knows?

I Think it is like this.
2016 units are actually 2015 units with 2015 duties paid for, hence there will not be a lot left.
This happened in 2013 when imported Priuses were still available till early 2014.
Toyota had been giving hefty discounts near the end of the year as Hybrid units were not moving fast. They had budgeted 7000 units in 2015.
For those who were gloating that we are regreting buying the Hybrid, FYI I got my Hybrid with a RM12,000 discount. I would have got a Rm13,000 (yes, that's Rm THIRTEEN) discount if I had not swapped a car for the colour that I want.
When UMW saw the sales was mving, it stopped giving Rm8,000 discount, and I don't think the SAs will give that much discount to top up either, when it is selling like hot cakes.
Most of us buy this car as it is top of the range for this price.
I had regreted not getting the Lexus CT200H when I had the chance.
FYI, I still think it is a good buy at Rm175K.
You just missed the boat, and it did not sink.

Folks, just wondering how did you finance your Camry H purchase? Was it via the normal HP method or via Toyota Drive leasing?

How much was it priced when it was launched? And was there some kind of promotion recently?  I was told by SA price will increase greatly next year as EEV will be removed.

Test drove the Camry H last week, nice quiet drive.

What is the OTR price after rebate?

great discount...I have gone to several Toyota showroom, none had the same offer....he personally checked the car for me....insisted I got a new one while there was another in the showroom (yah ppl have gone in and out of the car)
gave me 2 free Toyota umbrella; i think golf size...why I want such umbrella?? coz I am running out of umbrella....call me cheap skate...but hey who doesn't want a free one...overall....nice to deal with...had all my stuffs done accordingly...

OK....about the car....engine wise it is smooth ride.....power on the tap....quite butter smooth engine I would say....pretty well balance power band....vs my previous in-line 6 D.Vanos....this is one comparable ride
What I dislike about the engine is the start-stop during traffic jam or traffic lights, minor jerk....felt kinda funny coz this is my first ride with start-stop feature...and my first hybrid

Handling....it absorbs the road harshness nicely....maybe because its new and my previous ride had custom struts....haven't tried any hard cornering....driving back from Balakong during after office hours is not recommended...
The steering feedback is too soft probably due to the EPS...steering quality and holding feel is nice....way better than the tiny XV40...at least it feels more solid

Comfort: Honestly....up one notch for me....nice seats....ample leg room even for the rear....felt like it has more leg room compared to XV40

Audio...for the first time....factory fitted is something i can accept...of coz its not any audiophile or hifi system...but it is pretty decent and meets general demand...
first time using the radio took me sometime to figure out how to set the preset channels.....stupid me for not reading the manual...but it was kinda thick

night driving with the LED headlights....superb....but would need some minor height adjustments
autolights...not something I am used to....but also a fuss to on and off the light due to additional turn on the knob

misc stuffs....i think the auto up and down on all windows is a plus....
ambient foot lights adds up though not important

what could have been better:
1. additional side compartment to the right side of the driver for small things like house keys, parking cards or whatever handy
2. sunglass holder
3. consider removing the rubber cover for USB and cigerette lighter/12v charger port...have the compartment further sunken so that the flip cover can hide the USB...
4. the rear overall looks could have been better.....
5. central lock and unlock could have a button in the middle like the rest for the EV, Rear Blind and ECO....it would save the passenger having to stretch across to the driver side to lock/unlock the door should the driver go down....

*never use eco mode (rather useless)
*plan the road ahead keep to sweet spot all the time
*try not stay as much in car when idle

Yes i agree with your statement, what i mean to be was is hybrid worth to invest or normal car will do.
