Guys, anyone of you know if it is possible to set/program the side mirror to close when we lock the car ?

I find this on the Fiesta very convenient...

Can't seem to find anything on this for this Camry Hybrid.

If can program then damn nice already...

I always spend some time to take my things in the car after turn off engine.

I realized that there are some clicking n latching sound from the engine compartment

Anyone knows whats going on?
*
Don't know what's going on but it's normal. Even Camry 2.0 also got some sound like that. Estima also got.

But this Hybrid got a bit more of clicking and latching. It's not very loud but once if you are aware of it, each time also you will hear.

If have never heard the sound, you won't hear it but once you hear it, it's hard to not to hear it.

but Yesterday screen show "CHECK HYBRID SYSTEM, STOP VEHICLE IN A SAFETY PLACE IMMEDIATELY", so scare me...

After driven 5km in this morning, nothing come out from screen... ok lah

Did they wash the engine as well ?

I doubt water can go in if only body wash.

no, just normal body wash.

i take Pearl White, very difficult to maintance and keep it always clean
so regret now....
*
Did you see when they wash what they did or you left your car to them to wash ?

QUOTE(stimix @ Dec 8 2015, 12:02 PM)
I suspect the car wash went & wash the engine
*
I second this. If else normal body wash would not affect anything.

i just left my car to them, because my office at upstair CAR WASH SHOP.
i think they wash like normal... dunno why yesterday happen like that.
*
Clearly something must have happen somewhere.

Sometimes all these car wash tend to spray the engine bay with water.

I believe we really should not wash the engine of this Hybrid.

If it's dusty, can just blow using air instead of water.

There is no programs to set it just yet, you need to install obd auto window fold under the steering ( fusebox) to set it to fold both windows when alarm is pressed to lock and vise versa...it needs some wiring to be done
*
I am really looking forward of this function. Its a sad thing they did not include this as well.

If it requires some wiring to be done, then I'm pretty sure it will affect the warranty as well which I'm not keen to do so.

So this won't void the warranty?

Mind explaining how does it function? Does it auto flip when car is locked?

Guys, any idea why the headlight beam appears 'jagged' and asymmetrical on the road?
*
AFAIK, the passenger side beam is longer than the driver side beam. This is how it should be for any type of light (Multi-reflector, Projector)

The reason for this is not to blind oncoming vehicles.

Does the late model(December 2015) Camry Headlights come with LED or HID?
SA says has been HID since the early models, but brochure says LEDs.
Anyone can comment on this and clear the haze?
*
Only Camry Hybrid comes with Twin LED Projector for Low-Beam and Multi-Reflector for High-Beam while the older Camry comes with Single HID Projector for Low-Beam and Multi-Reflector for High-Beam.

Also the Auto High-Beam function that was previously in the brochure and in Toyota MY website it's not available in our cars. They took the brochure directly from Thailand and did not edit it properly before printing it out.

This is confirmed and it's Toyota's fault. One Camry Hybrid group is in the midst of suing Toyota for this. Let's hope they get something out of it.

Which other camry hybrid group is this. Would like to know the progress
*
It's a WhatsApp group with our famous car enthusiast in it.

By the way, just to share, one of the guy in the group also shared 2 days ago he has managed to get Mirror Link to work with his car. It's working flawlessly and from the video I can tell you it's just awesome. It's basically you mirror your phone to the centre display. It works horizontally and vertically according to phone's rotation.

He is not sure what the accessories shop did, but what he's aware of they did some rewiring of the DVD-AVN system.

Not sure whether they cut any wire or not, but they did not add in ANY adapter or device to make it work.

It's purely rewiring of the touch screen display unit.

They took out the thing and did the rewiring.

They are now in the midst or getting what the accessories shop did and will pass it to Toyota to get all Camry Hybrid Mirror Link to work.

I will update here when there's an update on it.

Guys, I have an important question, kinda searched around the forums but no one seemed to take note. Will be posting it in the two camry hybrid threads for max effect.

How do you guys warm-up the petrol engine since the car usually starts in EV mode? Especially cold starts when all the oil is down at the sump and not at the cylinders/pistons.

Isn't it damaging to the petrol engine when it starts abruptly just to take the load without even warming up the lubricating oil and spreading the lubricant in the engine?

Is there a way to force the petrol engine to turn on when you start the car? Or has toyota have a hidden solution that we're not aware of to that issue?
*
No one seemed to take note ? LOL ! There is no reason/importance to take note of such thing if you own a Hybrid car.

You should have not even bought a Hybrid car if this is what you have in mind.

Warming up is NOT needed anymore in modern vehicle (vehicles that uses Fuel Injection) what's more a Hybrid vehicles that uses HSD (Hybrid Synergy Drive)

Are you even aware that the Camry Hybrid uses a 0-20W Engine Oil ? There is a reason why the Engine Oil used in Hybrid cars has a viscosity that is very "thin" compared to non Hybrid cars.

Good Luck in finding a way to force start the ICE (Internal Combustion Engine).

Betul meh? Since fuel injection? BMW dulu semua ada dynamic rev-o-meter that showed the limit of revving/driving allowed when engine is cold, how about that?

There is a unwritten rule that no matter what engine or lubricant, you still need 30 secs minimum to let the oil spread around the engine before giving it load...

Tanya saja bang, I n00b in hybrid, I just know my straight 6 engines. Sorry kalao offended you in anyway..
*
Itu dulu bang. Now xde kan ?

It's not needed anymore.

Now BMW ka Mercedes ka Proton ka all either Push Start or whatever Start and drive.

I also n00b. No worries... icon_rolleyes.gif

Hi there, would like to check whether does all your gps working as mine can track my current position but when click on search address or poi , it will always say 'reading data . Please wait a while and retry ' ... I get this message all the while till now. Is it corrupted the software?

Also does this car viper washer when just pull the lever to wash the windscreen , after the water splash on the screen, will the viper blade auto wipe the windscreen or it will not?
As the manual say it will but mine can't.
*
Highly likely software. Should bring to service center and check if there is any update. Btw, I assume only 1 out of 1000 people are using the pre-installed map now days. Most people are using Waze or Google Maps.

It will wipe the windscreen automatically. This is a basic function that's available on almost all cars. I'm assuming you pull the lever too little/short, try pulling the lever slightly more/longer. This should do the trick. If this doesn't help, It could be some problem with the wiper. Need to go to service center to check.
