QUOTE(stimix @ Nov 4 2015, 10:47 PM) I did UR rear & front H bar on my much older Civic FD b4 my sonata. Well tremendous improvement on handling for sure BUT you have to forgo the quiet & softer ride thereafter. A year after installing, I decided to removed the front H Bar to reduce the road noises & hard suspension.. well this minimise abit but not much and I carried the hard rear suspension till I disposed off the car 4 years ago for Sonata. If your car has good suspension, the bars should not affect your suspension. So my suggestion.. if only u willing to forgo the softer & quiet ride, try not to add those bars Perhaps Honda Civic has poor suspension setup. Camry has better suspension than Civic. That's for sure. For my case, I have quieter ride after installing the strut bars, especially when I cross the hump. By the way, I use spring buffers too. You can install spring buffer (remember, get the premium grade spring buffer, never get those "red-color" cheap buffers. It makes huge difference). |

QUOTE(stimix @ Nov 4 2015, 11:33 PM) Well anything that improved the handling for sure will result in less comfortable ride. You might forgotten your much comfortable ride b4 the installation. On my sonata, which is having better handling than Civic (Confirmed), I did not ass any UR but 1.5 year after owning, I changed to bigger 18" rim and this resulted in an overall much better handling BUT the bad thing - the comfort level also gone 18" will give you a stiffer ride because the height of the rubber reduced. I have decided not to add any UR or even switch to bigger RIM once I get my new Camry this Sunday Not so for the strut bar. The point is, you don't "overdo" fixing the strut bar. Foaming + front & rear strut bars will do the job. Don't overdo it. It should not jeopardize the comfort level. |

QUOTE(akira982443 @ Nov 5 2015, 07:30 AM) I disagree with you. If you have ever mod a car, then you know once you install those bar, your car will be stiff. That is why you feel that the car handling improved especially cornering. Stimix is right. You will sacrifice comfort for handling. Car is stiffer, for sure. Just don't overdo it. I have done foaming + strut bars. Little noise when I cross the yellow paint and hump. Comfort level is still topnotch. |
