I'm 25 as well. Actually I didn't plan on buying any car until Tesla coming into Malaysia(which I hope for 2 years back). Getting this car is a sudden plan because my younger brother need a car and I gave him my Persona. So I'm researching some option for my next car and lucky enough Camry Hybrid is launching that time. So without much hesitation I just made my booking.

Not a fan of super car / luxury car, what I appreciate is the technology together with the car. Tesla will always be my first choice, but since it's not coming into Msia anytime soon. I just got myself a Camry Hybrid.

Yea, many 90s nowadays won't put too much money on property. My friend rather get a Audi TT instead of getting a house... My advice: house first, car later. Totally agreed with what Coolken saying.
*
AGREED with bro, i previously damn kiam siap to buy a car, been using the small i10 (my sis leftover after she further to study) until i accident and total lost the car.

The reason i buy also appreciate the hybrid technology. I not guy who care the outlook whether uncle or not, i just wan comfort ride since my job require me to travel long distance as often. honestly ,sound system is my first priority and par with the NVH which is the key to a decent sound quality too. if any car within budget is come with better sound system combine with a good NVH, totally will be my sayur

Nissan Teana 2.5 also has good NVH and decent sound quality  tongue.gif but i think nissan is kind of cold car, not many using the latest Teana
*
That was my 2nd choice actually , but currently camry come out with 10speaker + best NVH + hybrid bonus = triple kill

Wow! I feel old in this group... hehehehe...I'm 38

By the way, can I check with those who have already used the mirror link.
Is it true that when your phone is connected, this impacts your audio from other sources?
As in you cannot play any music from your USB drive or radio, if your phone is connected via mirror link?
I was told of this by a friend who drives the Honda City.

Also, I am having a problem charging my phone via the car's USB slot, as in it doesn't charge.
I read an american article on the Camry that which states:
"You may be annoyed when you find out the Camry’s USB jack cannot charge a tablet or other device drawing more than 5 watts"

Is this true? Do the rest of you guys have the same issues on charging via USB?
*
My gf iphone no problem using the usb charge but not mine samsung. Charge slow like no charge. This is forcing u to use qi charger as well smile.gif

Hi,

The sound is not on high pitch, it's hard to describe in word, let me try to "spell" it out here... it's sound like "uuuuuuuuhhmmm...." when brake gradually from 40kmh to near standstill / standstill, especially on slowing down on the speed bump, slowing down when approaching traffic light, it's sound like the star-war space ship landing.
*
i kinda like the sound lol, its like im braking an airplane tongue.gif

I think the reason why we are getting so much goodies in the Camry Hybrid is because they need to price this car higher than their 2.0. So instead of selling a basic hybrid camry at 120k, they pumped up the car with so many goodies to sell at 175k. The similar car specs in Thailand even though thailand also have hybrid incentives cost Rm210k. I think this car is a steal.
*
AGree ,that y ignoring CKD wise, we get most value penny on this 2015 CAMRY within such a long timeline.

in taiwan, this version camry is seliing 1,440,000 taiwan dollar (half duty exemption price on taiwan) ~RM170k

*2.0 Camry E in taiwan selling 980,000 taiwan dollar = RM120k only .
this shown how much our gov tax us compared other and how worth this camry is

I was not in the work shop to witness it. The service adviser only said that the technician push back the bottom cover.
But after about 2 days, the annoying creaking plastic noise coming back again.
Will contact the service center again.

Hi,

Does anyone experience water entering the edges of the rear lights of your
camry hybrid. The SC told me that they cant do anything as it is a design
issue.
*
QUOTE(eeewan @ Jul 30 2015, 10:15 PM)
My car also same problem. Will complaint during next service
*
QUOTE(klkow @ Jul 30 2015, 11:27 PM)
I observed too. Like water trapped in the void, near joint. Will complain later 1k.
*
QUOTE(nkhong @ Aug 3 2015, 09:34 AM)
Actually i will not accept it as design issue. Are you going to umw sc? How could someone design a rear light that water can leak into it? It is a brainless explaination. If this is really a design issue, then this will be my last car from toyota/umw, cause they couldnt get the rear light right, how could they get others more complex component right?
*
Same too , just notice this Flaw on every Camry user, anyone wanna put a report together so we could get our rights as an user?

Hi Guys,

Someone may have asked this before but can anyone confirm that the battery charge doesn't go above 6 bar? It has a total of 8 bars, but I noticed it never go above 6 and never go below 2 bars, no matter how much i drive and brake.
We know how important the battery is to our fuel savings, so effective only 4 bars of battery is being used out of 8, doesn't sound optimum.
*
It did goes up to 7th bar if u keep sprinting, the reason it never full or never go below 2 bar is due to your air condition, lights and sound system. unless u run ur car without everything On then u might get full bar as i assuming

Just want to check, what is the top speed has anyone on here done?
*
I tried 190kmh on highway before, very easy and even the meter still barely under the ECO category instead of PWR.

and suprisingly at such speed, the cabin noise still at minimum, still very enjoyable

How does the pickup feels like from 90 to 190? Do you really feel the electric motor effect?
*
QUOTE(Omnipotent @ Aug 23 2015, 10:03 PM)
Top speed is limited at 185kph. Power is then cut off even if you keep the accelerator to the floor. You probably touched 190 while going down a slope as the power is cut off.

I tested the hybrid on mex. wind noise crept in above 140 and becomes unbearable near the limiter. Not sure if my test drive car was poorly assembled or the wind was particularly strong that day.

At 185kph, the car feels floaty and disconnected from the road probably that's the reason they put a speed limiter. It should not dampen a potential buyer's interest anyway as it was never marketed as a sports sedan or meant to be driven at such speeds.
*
1.Perhaps due to i upgrade from A-segment to Camry . i really feel its very power . Yes the battery motor does drain as often.

2. Compare to the Hyundai i10 previously, the cabin noise are considered minimal , plus i am listening to music, thus the wind notice are less noticeable ?

3.Floaty wise i dont feel so la, normally only 1 seater max 2, overall im satisfied with the driving experience.
