May i know what kinda rattling noise? So far after 5mths of ownership everything is good. Except the rear left passenger back seat is rubbing against the airvent for the hybrid battery. SC readjusted the seat and noise reduced. However, me being sensitive to noise. Applied vaseline to smooth the contact now no more squeeky sound whenever there is somebody sitting at the back left seat.

The dashboard fix one sound another sound come. They adjust here and there and change bracket as well. From the side i am not sure whether it is door, plastic movement sound whenever brake, or go over bump, uneven road. From back i am not sure where the sound come from, but it come and go.

My driver side door also have noise when going over bump or turning. Almost feel like the door is loose or the chassis twist too much. SC just put rubber lube and squeak is gone for about 8 mths then came back. Other noise I am not experiencing. Recently got some noise in the back but I suspect is things in the trunk.

Road noise increased after 6mths as well. now radio at 7 can't hear when car is running. Stopped will be ok.

Probably is the stock bridgestone tyre wearing out. A change of fresh soft tyre will do the job

Hopefully mine will continue to run without rattling or noise issue. Nowadays new cars all quality quite bad. My mom w204fl straight roll out of showroom rear right door cannot close tightly without using more force to close it. Opening also requires more force. As for the other 3 doors it uses the same force to open and close. Mercedes replaced the entire door during 1st service.

If the hinge mount is out of alignment then whole door need to replace. At least they did it and not try to adjust n bend to fit.

Ya its quite surprising to receive such unit. Luckily they changed the entire door. I am disappointed with umw as i bought the camry hybrid after being attracted by the HU mirroring function. Upon getting the car, took me hours to figure out how to mirror my image by going thru the manual book and google. Finally gave up and call toyota SC and what surprised me is that they say no such function the brochure was taken directly from thailand and apologised. 1st and last ckd toyota from me. I would rather buy recond

Thanks for sharing, now I know I am not the only one getting this problem.

I have similar noise too from the driver side door and passenger side door when driving over bump or turning, especially at low speed. It is getting more noticeable now after 5 months on the road, and I think it is getting worse.

Will complain to SC in my next service.

My 12 years old Altis doesn't even have this problem.

Oh yeah, that's also how I 'overcome' the problem too. biggrin.gif

Somehow the rattling sound does not surface when driving at high speed (>60kmph). Probably it is subdued by other noises. Also, other passengers do not really notice it unless I mention it.

Overall, I do not think it is a big problem as overall I still feel that this is a quiet and comfy car, much better than other Japanese D-segment cars I test-drived.

Nevertheless, I will still make a case to Toyota SC. Hey, I am not paying peanut for this car, so I do not deserve a monkey.

yes above 70km/h for my case.. rattling noise will occur even u play song... but if u blast the audio of course cant hear anymore

i already complain and they open the dashboard once time.. so the noise is still there and i will never allow them to dismantle it for 2nd time..

hi all.....its been informative reading from the first page till this page....i am not yet an owner but about to decide whether to get this car

i have previously driven the XV40....wonderful and nice to drive until i got hijacked

so after 5 yrs of driving an older car and getting back my NCB to 55%....its time for me to get another new Camry....

so here's a few question that I never got a proper answer from sales ppl

1. The hybrid battery pack cost around 9k to replace. While i understand batteries are considered a wear & tear item, what does the 8 yr warranty cover then?

2. similar to the warranty component, UMW now offers 5 years unlimited mileage warranty. After reading through their caveats, seems the only coverage cover main engine block, and metal components (provided no accident) and some of the main electronics like ECU. It also sounds as if the extended warranty has alot of things that is required to pay. Any thoughts on this?

3. the tinting that comes standard with the hybrid, any reviews? Anyone knows what film and what kind of specification? Any option of not having the tinting during the ordering time?

1. Like the warranty stated, the battery itself. As long it is a rechargeable battery, there will be a time where its performance will decrease to a point where it can't charge/ hold any more power.

2. The 5 years warranty is the same like Honda and others are offering. Of course, parts that are categorize as wear and tear is not cover.

3. As far as I know, the brand is Toyota film. Since it is FOC, the heat reduction is not as good as those branded ones. However, it still does reduce some heat. I believe it is not possible but you can try to ask the SC on whether you can get the car minus the tint.

The 2 years extended warranty is good as you don't have to worry about the cost if the Hybrid system component becomes faulty after 3 years.

It only works when the mirror is clean. Dust or oil will reduce the hydrophilic properties.
