Does anyone try book Agoda with CIMB cc?
It state 8% discount if book hotel in Hong Kong, Australia and Thailand.
http://www.cimbbank.com.my/en/personal/pro...privileges.html

Is it still entitled the 5% for online cash back? So total cash back is 8% + 5%?

Yes, it has cross border fees.

So the total charges would be cross border fee + admin fee + master rate?

david83, lee1234, noien, chiahau, ronnie and whoever is interested in the payroll account thingy.

Since I'm quite free today in the office so I made a call to CIMB to enquire further. These are my queries:

i) I asked about the eligibility to participate in this program. There are two versions of answers from their product team. One person says, everyone is eligible while the other person says only those received SMS blast will be eligible. She has taken down my details and will call me back again next week to confirm on the eligibility. My argument to her is that there is nothing mentioned in the clause that states this is only for invited customers.

ii) Assuming if everything is clear for part (i), you will need to register via SMS. I asked if there is any SMS confirmation after that, she said she wasn't told if there is any SMS confirmation. It will be good if you could call them after you send the SMS.

iii) How do you confirm that the amount transferred into CIMB account is my salary? Apparently, they will check with your HR if your salary account is CIMB account. You must have 6 consecutive salary records and you cash back will be paid in two months after that, which is the 8th month.

iv) I'm now in second tier and what if I receive a bonus in one of the first 6 months and it is more than 10k now? How do you determine the amount of my cash back? She said the payments transferred into your account for 6 months will be averaged and see it falls into which tier.

That's all I have asked and will come back on first question once she calls me back.

Thanks for the info.
So i guess they will ask for the company information in order to verify with the hr department.

I can't get discount from agoda. Previously can, so I didn't do any mistake.

I went to agoda.com/cimb, key in the place, book the hotel. Login my account, put in my saved CC, but no discount displayed.

I tried on the hotel that I usually booked and get discount, no luck as well.

Not sure what went wrong, the promotion ends already? or because of the server down.

Never used.

Chances are it will be charged. You can choose not to pay in ringgit.

If pay in foreign currency, the admin charge > 1%
I will use other card to pay.
