Note unlike banks such as MBB,,,,cash back (promos) by CIMB is not considered payment of your statement... It appears the same applies to the standard monthly cashback (5%/2%/0.2%)...
Example: If your statement is RM500, and you get RM200 cash back before your statement is due....and you pay only you outstanding balance of RM300, you'll be charged interest of the RM300 even though technically you owe them nothing... Once bitten, Twice shy.... This post has been edited by BeastX: Jul 30 2015, 08:17 AM |

QUOTE(wan7075 @ Jul 30 2015, 09:56 AM) http://www.cimbbank.com.my/content/dam/cim...t-3July2015.pdf Yes....it'll be the first item in the next statement.... and you'll have to pay your statement in full (not minus the "cb" out) or you'll be charged interest (on the "cb" amount)...so mean that this month we will not see our cash back? and we will only see it in next statement? if like that cimb can delay the cash back for 1 month. |

QUOTE(David83 @ Jul 30 2015, 10:19 AM) You're correct but not sure if I comprehended correctly. Yup... and make sure you pay your full statement without deducting the CB... or you'll be charged interest on the CB amount...What I meant is whether the change is to delay 1 month to give you the cash rebate. Statement date: 28th of this month Cash rebate: 29th of next month (next two statements) But I think I could be wrong Statement date: 28th of this month Cash rebate: 29th of this month (next statement) With CIMB.... cash back is only acknowledge on the date of the statement.. |

QUOTE(David83 @ Aug 1 2015, 09:49 AM) Posted under unbilled transaction in CIMBClicks. Also make sure would pay your statement in full for July.... and the CB is meant for Aug's statement... "to avoid interest"[attachmentid=4679434] You'll see it in the next statement. Not sure what is your fuss. It's still within the same month; just different reporting. QUOTE(David83 @ Aug 3 2015, 07:41 AM) QUOTE(fruitie @ Aug 3 2015, 08:01 AM) I believe there are no banks that would update the "statement balance".... even if you make the full payment immediately..."Outstanding balance" will be reflecting your cash back... You'll notice the "min payment" amount still stands.... MBB would deduct it, not with CIMB.... A year or so ago I got RM200 in "cash rebate" well in advance of my statement due date, I excluded it from payment on the due date, and I was hit with interest of a few ringgit on the following statement 2 weeks later... so even with wining the recent RM100 cash back, I paid my statement without exclusion... Once bitten twice shy... This post has been edited by BeastX: Aug 3 2015, 08:20 AM |

QUOTE(chiahau @ Sep 11 2015, 11:47 AM) Err, do you choose to display the currency in MYR? I buy from Ebay, terus charged in USD then converted to ringgit. QUOTE(ben3003 @ Sep 11 2015, 01:58 PM) nope at ebay show USD. when i pay at paypal, if use MBB amex is show USD, but if use cimb cash rebate show in RM. There the option for Paypal to do the conversion for you.... which will not have a good rate (in addition CIMB adds 0.8% for MYR through PP), letting the bank to do the conversion would be preferedThis post has been edited by BeastX: Sep 11 2015, 02:36 PM |

QUOTE(labtec @ Nov 1 2015, 12:26 PM) icic, would be hard to keep track... Paypal for ebay in foreign currency .... fine...anyone here know if i register my cimb cash back card to paypal and use paypal account to pay for ebay, hotel or movie ticket still consider as online transaction for 5% cash back? but anything in Ringgit through Paypal, you'll be charged 0.8% cross border fees.... so you're effectively only getting 4.2% cash back, within the monthly online RM600 limit... |
