It is common practice, they want to push sale, just don't activate the other card you don't need
*
Apart from the Zing Card, they didn't send me extra card that I didn't apply for.

mine didn't come with Zing card.

I believe no charges will be forced upon you if the card is never activated.
*
If you're referring to Zing card, there'll be a registration fee even though you don't "activate" it.

You successfully waive the the zing card acttivation fee? I read in the terms and condition but as it is not a card fee, so I'm not sure it is waivable...
*
Call CS said that you want to CANCEL the Zing Card. They'll perform the cancellation and reverse the RM 10.60 fee.

I am not sure if this change has been shared here before.

Starting from this month, for CIMB Cash Rebate MasterCard cc, the posting of the cash rebate will be on the next month statement.

Could refer to the 'FAQ' or 'Important Notice' on CIMB website.
*
Can you post the link here?

If so, seems like it has become like UOB VOX.

Week 11 online transactions:

Maybe they treated as same merchant even using different channel to pay.

Utilities payment for CIMB CR MC

2% rebate ---> must sign up for SI/Autodebit/Autopay

5% rebate ---> not qualified even though you pay at payee website, 3rd payment process (UOB PayOnline) or CIMBClicks.

So currently there's no way to get 5% rebate for utilities with M2Card's benefits being discontinued. Am I right? (Premiere cards not counted)
*
UOB VOX: ASTRO and Unifi can get 5% (if I remembered correctly).

CIMB CR MC: ASTRO can get 5% (if I remembered correctly).

NOt interested in Astro as I don't have Astro and not going to apply astro. By the way, this card (CIMB cashback) and UOB VOX gives 5% for online transcation. How's the exchange rate of CIMB Cash Back vs UOB VOX? WHich card give better exchange rates?
*
You better check the CC FOREX thread.

CIMB has cross border charge. Not sure with UOB.

Don't all banks have cross border charges in some form or another (admin fees, etc)
*
Please the cross border thread too. LOL

My memory is not strong to remember everything. Sorry ... blush.gif

I got cashback for week 11 but some of the swipes were after 11am. I'm wondering whether CIMB base on the swipe dates or the posting dates to determine the cashback? That's because although my swipes were all done on Monday but for some it took several days before it was captured/posted
*
Transaction date for sure! doh.gif

They revised the eligibility as well, from previously 60k now drops to 24k. laugh.gif
"The minimum income requirement for CIMB Cash Rebate Platinum MasterCard is RM24,000 per annum."

24k for Plat, I really laugh.gif Unless they are coming up a better card for Plat holders?

Anyway, I'm terminating my CIMB CR Plat soon.
*
Maybe they want to come out with CIMB CR WMC. LOL
