The payroll thingy sounds cool. david83, if you manage to find out more about it, please share with us. biggrin.gif

I'm a low income earner, only can get RM 288 but better than nothing. laugh.gif

Though I wish to get RM 588. tongue.gif

Thank you in advance!
*
how can you be considered as low income earner?

Below RM3,000 = Low Income
RM3,000 – RM4,999 = Medium Low Income
RM5,000 – RM9,999 = Medium High Income
RM10,000 and above = High Income

so you should be considered as medium high income earner. notworthy.gif

I applied my Maybank Ikhwan at the booth in MATTA Fair last weekend and one of the questions asked by the agent was if I'm holding any CIMB cards, I said yes and he asked me for the credit limit I got. I told him 23k if I can remember correctly. Then, he said, the amount of my Ikhwan will be around the same.

I really don't see any relation with my Maybank, does anyone have any clues? sweat.gif doh.gif

I can't even convince myself that my Ikhwan will be approved, what's more such a high limit for Ikhwan? I can dream on.
*
that's the basic question that an agent would ask and also the standard answer that an agent would give. nothing to do with your relation with the bank. the reason they ask is to know how much other bank would give you based on your current income, and they know roughly how much their bank would approve. so if you said your current bank gives higher than their bank's standard, they would say their bank would give roughly the same. if you said lower, they would say their bank could offer higher at xxx amount to impress you. lol...

david83, lee1234, noien, chiahau, ronnie and whoever is interested in the payroll account thingy.

Since I'm quite free today in the office so I made a call to CIMB to enquire further. These are my queries:

i) I asked about the eligibility to participate in this program. There are two versions of answers from their product team. One person says, everyone is eligible while the other person says only those received SMS blast will be eligible. She has taken down my details and will call me back again next week to confirm on the eligibility. My argument to her is that there is nothing mentioned in the clause that states this is only for invited customers.

ii) Assuming if everything is clear for part (i), you will need to register via SMS. I asked if there is any SMS confirmation after that, she said she wasn't told if there is any SMS confirmation. It will be good if you could call them after you send the SMS.

iii) How do you confirm that the amount transferred into CIMB account is my salary? Apparently, they will check with your HR if your salary account is CIMB account. You must have 6 consecutive salary records and you cash back will be paid in two months after that, which is the 8th month.

iv) I'm now in second tier and what if I receive a bonus in one of the first 6 months and it is more than 10k now? How do you determine the amount of my cash back? She said the payments transferred into your account for 6 months will be averaged and see it falls into which tier.

That's all I have asked and will come back on first question once she calls me back.
*
so a person with rm7k salary and coincidentally received his 3 months bonus during this 6 months period will have his average salary rm10.5k so he will received the rm588 tier. wow.

I think noien received the SMS.
Well, this is what she says. My bonus will be out in April, so I won't participate now, will participate in Dec, most probably. laugh.gif
Did you ask anyone in the branch about this campaign?
This is a new program though, only launched on 9th Sept.
*
for those whose salary already being paid into their cimb account automatically not qualified right?

just checked my groupon.MY (desktop browser) transactions on 9/9 using CIMB CR.
one thing i noticed is during payment checkout, the screen is different (seems to be random)

2 transactions without cross border fees: when i enter cc details, i saw the amex icon there.
2 transactions with cross border fees: i saw different screen, only accept visa/mastercard.
i thought any type of payment screen would resulted NO cross border fees, but nope.

seems to be depends on which payment processor they're using also, regardless of using desktop or mobile app.
*
yes, and this explain why some deals is under dining instead of online last time. lol...

I can't get discount from agoda. Previously can, so I didn't do any mistake.

I went to agoda.com/cimb, key in the place, book the hotel. Login my account, put in my saved CC, but no discount displayed.

I tried on the hotel that I usually booked and get discount, no luck as well.

Not sure what went wrong, the promotion ends already? or because of the server down.

forget it, use shopback to get rm29 cb better. biggrin.gif

*
i believe your cash rebate card is on the way. because i believe both cards will be sharing the credit limit. you may call cimb cs to confirm this.
