By the way, what is the meaning of standing instructions for mobile payment? meaning has to go to the kiosk?

Standing instructions are auto-payment facility that auto pay your bill. Most likely it will be categorized as Retail transactions than Online.

Painful lesson continued:

Booking hotel room with CIMB Cash Rebate through Agoda.

Saw the 'recent transaction' online with a cash rebate that works out to be 0.2% cash rebate for all Agoda transactions!!

0.2%!!!!!

I called up the CS and requested for MCC and was told all of them are 4722.
He continued and say that I should be getting 5%, therefore raising a case to investigate.

almost 2 weeks passed, CIMB called me back to say they have credited back the cash rebate for Agoda transactions.

so if you guys are using CIMB Cash Rebate for Agoda, please make sure you check your statement for cashback. Otherwise, it will be treated as 'Other Retail' of 0.2% CB.

Agoda using CIMB card may be charged with 0.8% cross border and from previous feedback, it seems it is categorized as retail 0.2% rather than online 5%. Need others to validate.

I recently booked my accommodation but used UOB VOX to save all the headache.
*
CIMB + Agoda = 0.8% cross border fee. Confirmed.

Cashback entitlement = in my case, 0.2% (other retails), but when I called up to query about it, they change it to 5% separately.

A few months back, booked a room through Agoda with the 'book now, pay later' option. Just checked this morning on the cash rebate for that particular transaction. Only got 0.2% cash rebate. Called and confirmed with CS about the MCC and if it is qualified for 5% cash rebate. The CS said its MCC is 4722 and yes and an inquiry was opened to investigate. Would receive a call if there is any outcome from the investigation. Received a call two hours later, saying that it was POSMODE 01 and not POSMODE 81, thus only qualified for 0.2%, and it is stated in the FAQ. So beware of the 'book now, pay later' option!
*
I had the same experience. However, after I called to complain, they reissue the 4.8% rebate to me 2 weeks later.

Anyway, CIMB is NOT for Agoda, ever! (there is also a 0.8% cross border charge).

SInce he said the POSMODE is not 81, I find it hard to argue with him. Thus, only 0.2% cash rebate. =/
*
with 0.2% rebate, you paid 0.8% cross border, still suffer loss of 0.6% leh!

I have the urge to apply for UOB VOX card!!! Haha~

For VOX card, the minimum spend (to gain cash rebate) is holding me back from applying. Most of my online transactions are below rm50. Anyway, may consider it for potential big amount spending in future.

Yea, the same reason I went for CIMB CR in the first place.

there is no rm14 transaction record so I believe it is a cumulative amount of multiple transactions like rm7, rm5, rm2.
but I don't see any 2% or 0.2% rebate too...

all transaction is online purchase like qoo10, 11street.
*
are we clear on the cash rebate is merely reflecting what was spent in previous cycle of the statement and not the current one? Just to be sure.

Even if the card is ready with PIN and PAY, the merchant's card device will also need to be upgraded to comply. Otherwise, you will still need to sign for another 13 months (until 1st Jan, 2017) if the merchants have not changed their card devices.

There is nothing you can rush here.
