Made a hotel booking thru hotel.com last weeekend and ended with roughly 0.8% higher charge in my cc, compared to the booking price. Any charge from cimb that i miss out here? I made the booking in MYR.

Received email today:

CODE
Having reviewed your credit card account, we noted that you have made payment before due date. But as payment was not in full, finance charges was imposed accordingly.
However, we will submit your waiver request to our respective department for further action.
We would advise you to remit payment as per statement to avoid unnecessary charges.

So that means that you cannot use your cash back to offset your statement amount.

But, the weird thing is that the finance charges is at RM 18.19 which translates to
RM 1455+- spending with 1.25% per month finance charges
RM 1280+- spending with 1.42% per month finance charges
RM 1212+- spending with 1.5% per month finance charges

none of my balance falls into that.  rclxub.gif

Another thing to note is that my August statement, I paid amount after deducting cash rebate also don't have finance charges.

thanks for the update.. seem like it is more safe to pay statement amount for cimb.. rclxub.gif

CIMB, Standard Chartered and HLB charge cross border fee on ringgit transaction that uses overseas gateway.

Example of website that use non-local payment gateway include Agoda, Expedia, Dell, PayPal, Apple Store, Living Social.

For Agoda, it doesn't matter if hotel is in Malaysia or not.

I've stopped using cimb cashback for online transaction unless I'm very sure the website uses local payment gateway.

After I complained to the CS, CIMB clicks application for Cash Rebate Platinum from 60k finally changed to 24k. Just applied this card thru CIMB clicks and uploaded income, and now just wait the application to be approve.

As mentioned earlier, this is the system error on they can't capture cash rebate as payment settlement. Still, the bank will refund to u, but it is so much of workaround u need to do..  To avoid to do this appeal, just pay full, ended up the money still urs to offset your next statement spending.. Unless u want to cancel the card then u can pay the outstanding balance after u deduct the cash back.

I'd encountered the same issue with Maybank before. End up called CS to waive the finance charges. The 1st CS don't allowed to waive; 2nd CS finally can.

My application was denied when I applied though CIMBClicks but I'm not sure why. I own 3 signature cards so I don't think salary is the deciding factor. Yours approved?

Same situation few months ago as I fault to submit document from CIMBClick, keep showing ask to submit...

After that, I just submit related docs through email and call for confirmation

I was offered the CIMB CR card few months back. The guy told me to email him my income documents. I did but receive SMS notification that it was rejected. Didn't bother much since I didn't really want the card then and hence didn't follow up.

Recently thought about it again and decided that I should just get it since it's kinda hassle free and I do spend quite a bit on online shopping. Tried submitted via CIMBClicks but for whatever reason didn't get thru and it keeps emailing me to complete my submission. Finally went to submit the application form and documents on 6/10 at Sunway Pyramid branch, got SMS notification to collect my card on 12/10 biggrin.gif
