Hey mitmivec,

I think you are talking about this right? http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=ST&f=98&t=657728. According to my research, the item is the same as the Qstarz 1000 and that costs RM450 on lelong.com.

So i think what this guy beverlykho is selling is quite worth it. Some more data logger. Means that you can record your trip without your pda or phone. Imagine this, want to know where your gf/wife/other go to with your car, just hide it in the car, turn it on and later get the data from the gps and see where she/he went to on google maps. very sneaky.

Also one thing i notice about sellers on lelong is that they dun know much about their product. Ask them what firmware they gps have and they most likely tell you "dun know" or just say "latest one." firmware is important because it is like you computer bios, old bios also no use right.

I did pm him about the product and he say his firmware the V1.92, confirm latest for the model.

vivi99,

Did you let the gps get a lock on the satellites first? Only then can the software update your position, like on my Garmin Mobile XT.

Actually you don't need to buy the sd card to use Garmin Mobile XT, i use the one downloaded from the Garmin site.

Download the file and install, but you will need to register the program, then only can you use it with your internal GPS.

Yup, same model as the guy beverlykho is selling.so far no complaints.Brought mine on the bus trip from KL to JB one time and it was very accurate.now in sarawak and wife likes it cos she not such a good navigator.

Asked a friend to send from US for me about a year ago. Cost almost RM450 after convert from USD.

Now so cheap.
