I've recently found some dirt/dust on my sensor and it's definitely appearing on my photos. Did the usual checks and it's not on the lens or anywhere else.

Searched online and I've decided to clean it myself. Majority of the DIY cleaning kits (swabs, lens solution, etc) can't be found here or the many shops that I've been to do not have them.

Where in Malaysia have any of you purchased a sensor cleaning kit. Or if you have purchased them online, do point me in the right direction.

I just use one of these to blow it out. If you're using a DSLR use bulb mode exposure to open the mirror. See those pieces of dust and blow it off.

This blower is a needed item to blow lint off the lens too after wiping.

Why use bulb mode owl? There's a sensor cleaning mode, which is safer. In bulb, an accidental nudge on the shutter button could trigger the mirror back down while having your brush still inside.

I heard somewhere saying in sensor cleaning mode, the sensor is powered off to reduce any static charge compared to when its turned on in bulb.

My friend does sensor cleaning for a fee. He has all the equipment.. He's in KL area.

Ah didn't know that. I only has one piece of dust on my sensor one time. My sensor is fine so good to know there's a safer mode.

Yeah I do already have that. Tried it and it barely helps. I was thinking more of the water based solutions a.ka. swabs.


Yups I just recently got the sensorklear pen but it doesn't look like it helps all that much. I've followed the tutorials to the letter and it just seems as though the water based swabs would do the job.

Yeah, I know of sensor cleaning services. Since it is a maintenance issue I thought it would be in my best interest get the kits and clean it myself to save time and money.
