For those who travel out of malaysia. Celcom will charge you roaming rates when someone calls you and you happen to be in another country when you did not pick up the call and it goes to voicemail. I find this crazy because maxis and digi does not charge anything when you are out of the country and calls goes to voicemail. They only charge when you call to retrieve voicemail. But celcom charges you roaming rates for all calls that goes into voicemail and again charges you to retrieve voicemail.
*
maxis does the same too, at least for hotlink. i was in singapore once, turned on my phone briefly to receive tac for internet banking. after that, loads of spam calls came and went into vm, and i was charged roaming airtime for them. what made me more furious was that my number was inactive and yet deduction to my credit balance could still take place!

all telcos in malaysia suck and they are out to fleece you. mcmc is hopeless. so you just have to find one that sucks less.

not many, but i believe telcos are making lots of profits from unsuspecting subscribers by enabling unwanted service by default.

To be fair, most of us who complained have probably ported away from Celcom. After calling and complaining three times to Celcom with no change, I'm also going to port out today. Then this thread will probably die, haha.

Exactly. I have ported away as well. Once ported, there's no point ranting about the damn Celcom slow internet anymore.

Imagine you receive calls everyday about customer complains... you think having you calling them will make any difference?
My approach is different. I've even managed to get them to figure out a cell tower problem, and sped up data connection. It definitely took more than 3 days and just a few phone calls...

Seems to be a lot of effort? I changed to U mobile, within a few hours porting is complete, and I get full reception and max speed, lol.

I was on Iphone plan and switched to First Basic 38, both celcom. I thought my phone was damaged when I cannot get any data at all.
Same places same times.
Its been over a month now and I'm seriously thinking to just pay more.
