Just changed my prepaid to Celcom First Basic 85 2 months ago. The first month I did not use up any of the quota so the optimization was not needed. Yesterday I finished up the initial 2 gigabytes quota for the data, but apparently the optimization did not activate and my quota balance is still stated as 0 today.

For those who used this plan for quite some time, I have a few questions.

1) Does the optimization usually automatically activated?. If its activated does the system send you any sms or email notifications?
2) Once the optimization activated (lets say the data one, in my case), does it reflected in the balance check? ("bal status" to 28882)
3) Does this plan (specifically the First Basic 85) throttle after internet quota used up? (I've checked the internet and there are some conflicting information. Some say that only 'First Basic 38' get throttle after quota used up, while 'First Basic 85' get "pay as you go rate" without throttling, some say that all plans get throttled)
4) I just realized that quota balance less than 2gig should be carried over to the following month, is this reflected in the balance status too once the next billing cycle started?.


Sorry for the long winded post. I usually dont post in forum for such things but the celcom webpage is really inefficient and lack of information, and the celcom costumer service near my area is atrocious. I also apologize in advance if this has been discussed before, just point me to the related topics if that is the case.

bro.. i faced similar situation just like you..head big big when i switch to that plan.. i did call up several times and ask them 1 by 1..

1. optimiser will kick in automatically if finished either one of the call/sms or data..you will get sms notifications saying the plan has already been optimized.. and confirmed optimized 1 time (either data or sms/call) on each month nia..

2. it will reflect all in your bal status for all your entitlement + if you bought additional data volume in the same month..

3. all their celcom first postpaid plans are non PPU basis.. everything will get throttle speed whenever data finished, no matter what plans you are on. the only ppu is the call/sms if you finished up the complimentary one lo.. haha

4. ya it will carry forward to next month if you cannot finish utilize your data depending how many gb you entitled for the plan you've subscribed.. it will appear in bal status too.

now they have this new plan..rm 38 for 3GB + 3GB free wifi...if not tide up on contract can consider la..
me also now with all these new plan keep popping out like mushroom...
now need more data than call coz currently using 4GB but by the 3rd week all gone ..
again make sure you know what you sign up coz once signed no more looking back for at least 1 yr lo..

Yes quite a good deal with the current First Basic 38 that gives 3GB of mobile data a month, if you need more then just buy/topup with the MAX UP of RM50 for 5GB, so in total RM88 for 8GB of mobile data which should be among the best deals.

actually it is 3GB + 3GB free wifi but limited time only la..dunno till when..so who is interested better sign up now
compare to the rest..still the best plan for those who prefer more data...

True, better hurry up as 3GB is given to customers who register within this promo period only and will remain 3GB monthly until you terminate or change plan as per stated with a fine print on their website.

Ive been interested to get basic 38 since they come out with the 3gb data plan. But need some clarifications first. Sorry TS tumpang ur topic abit. What is the first and 2nd month billing like? 38 (or 85 in ur case) plus anythg else? (Reg fee, upfront etc.) Also is there any cons taking this plan compared to other telco's plan? Tq n TS dun get angry with me

errr did you take it with phone bundle etc? if itemized billing also extra charges..
so before sign up better tell the dealer to remove everything
