Been driving wifey's FL cerato 1.6.. hauled up full passengers with boot full of luggages. surprisingly, the 1.6 engine feels more energetic than the number suggests.. eager to be revved. love the responsive gearbox. nvh is good but tire noise is a bit high (maybe due to the conti MC5 tires?). wind noise is kept very low when driving at high speed which is very good. engine noise is no problem and sounds quite good when revved. ride is supple but geared to be on the stiffer side (probably due to the low profile tires). handling is quite ok to be honest with not so much bodyroll. steering is ok as it feels heavier when speed increases. though a bit more weight wouldn't hurt. fuel consumption is very good too.
spec wise is very good for the price. my only gripe is it doesn't come with automatic wipers. interior quality is good but i feel the design is not aligned with the rest of the models. maybe the next cerato will be better. i used to own jap cars before this. took the plunge and bought the kimchi for once. will i buy another kia after this? yes. they seem to get better and better. |

QUOTE(Effy92 @ Jul 8 2017, 03:37 PM) I see. I thought the car has been into accident or sensor has been replaced when saw black sensor on red cerato. Yes, it feels stiff when going over bumps due to the low profile tayar. But ride is supple. Maybe profile of 55 will suit better but i like the look of 17 on this car especially with the FL rims.I'm very surprise you said cerato ride was stiff. Maybe it feel stiff if pass over the pothole due to low profile tyre, but the suspension undulation is super soft for me. The car totally tuned for comfort which is good for passenger and for driver who like the comfort ride. |

Its not easy to differentiate between glittering and golden beat.. too close. Naza should have offered black or blue instead.
And yes, my wife also said the lumbar support is good. |

QUOTE(amar_arifin @ Jul 14 2017, 11:49 AM) Tq for sharing.. all cars got problem. mesti ada punya. so far cerato have small niggles, no major setbacks based on real owners.the most i concern is engine & gearbox issue... how their performance?? got read all post/ forum kia cerato thread in here.. but hard to find customer complaint on this issue.. either no problem or good kia marketing in LYN to cover up... agreed with you on int design..look need more fresh & exclusive design on IP and floor console area.. other dilemma.. buy 2nd because lower RSV but poor engine / performance or buy frst but worry to sell less than 5 yrs..(confirm rugi) no issues with engine & gearbox reported as far as i know. performance of the 1.6 engine? it's enough for most users. it revs easily and sounds good. good engine insulation when cruising. if you need more oomph just get the 2.0. if you are looking for an all-out performance car, then cerato is not for you. it's a normal saloon with good safety features and functions. yes, the cabin is abit outdated if you compare with other more recent kia models (sportage, optima gt, sorento) but it's well put together. |

QUOTE(sugebleach @ Nov 25 2025, 05:46 PM) hi, i am looking for 2018/19 Kia Cerato k3. I saw some 2019 car which quite decent to me. Official should be 5w-30. Some authorized KIA service like NSS do use 5w-40 though. Why SC use 5w-40 engine oil instead of 5w-30 for a 6yo car? ![]() You look at the label it says BHPetrol.. i dont remember KIA is using BHP oil. sugebleach liked this post
