Need advice.
Planning to get a 2nd hand Cerato(2014), either 1.6 or 2.0. But not sure which variant to get.
I read that people tend to comment 'if you want to get Cerato, better get 2.0 one'. Wonder why is that. And how much of a different for the FC between this two, and what the average FC for the 2 variants anyway for city driving? I am not too concern if its not as bad as a Wira.
Btw, is there any difference for the years 2014 and 2015? I notice there are 2 different HU, one is bigger and the other is smaller, whats the different?
And lastly, what should I be mindful of when checking on the 2nd hand car? And whats the common issue/problem with the model?

Thanks.

and is there any reason to get 1.6 rather than 2.0?

I'm interested to trade-in my Polo Sedan 1.6 for pre-facelift used k3 cerato 2.0.. I would like to know:
1. Is the car problematic? Any common defect such as steering rack issue on Forte 2.0?
2. Is 2.0 also affected with idle engine vibration?
3. How's fuel consumption? Able to reach 11km/litre on city driving or not?

Thanks.

I too was very eager to get one myself. Was in the FB group for few months.
Typical complain, weak battery and steering knocking sound and sometimes fuel cover cannot open.
Apart from that, there are few different issue with the car which doesnt make your car undrivable.
New or second hand, very much depends on luck. There a new post bout getting a lemon unit, which has to replace some parts and have to wait for long time.
So yeah, their SC suck. Probly not wise to get a new one for that reason.

Conti UC6 for better comfort and quieter ride than MC5?
I suppose there is no perfect car, each would have its weakness. But generally, K3 has so far proven to be reliable and value for money with all the specs thrown in and at sub 90K pricing with Free 3 years service, it is worth every car hunter's consideration.

yeah.. cerato considered good compare to other made. very solid. but the SC really need a lot of improvement. Telling other to wait long long for a battery replacement is really stupid.
So to me at least, getting a second hand is better bargain where I dont have to rely on KIA bad SC.

how long for battery replacement? my vw waited 1 week during merdeka holiday as vw refused to swap for me when onsite assists came, and need to tow to SC after long holiday, leave car 1 night for them to perform old battery charging for confirmed dead only replace new under warranty for me.

according to the FB post, SC told the owner that he have to wait a bit longer, no time frame given. Cant imagine that SC do not have extra battery in their stock, but of coz they do, they just do not want to do it.
however, from the FB group, each SC has different policy. Some are much better than other. Its as if there are no common policy and they do whatever that can generate more profit for them. So forget bout after sales service.
With that in mind, second hand one is better choice as it save you from the frustration of having to deal with their SC.

lauyah,

for after sales  sc  policy SLA
we cannot guarantee which sc manager is fast.
only reviews by customer can justify

thats why its so inefficient and lack of commitment from KIA itself to keep customer happy..
that's why its best to get second hand car, so dont have to deal with their SC.
