15k rebate. Just check few days ago. Tempted to buy but, what if I like the 2019version better? (Hmmm). I've heard a lot of complaint regards KIA's after sales service. Have they improved?
*
Actually, can ask same question about many other brands, just go to their respective threads. When you own Kia, you will hear many complaints about after sales. If you own Honda, you will hear a lot of grouses about Honda after sales... same with most brands.

Izzit. I don't hear much for Honda and Perodua la if you ask me. (My dad owns Honda HRV and i drove my Myvi for 10 years)

The thing is, when I was asking around, other brands got other type of concerns about the cars.. (durability, driving experience, fc…) but when comes to Kia, ppl most of the times comment on their spare parts availability and after sales service. I went through the threads, some even said they waited for months for their spare parts. I dont think other brands took that long?
*
Check FB threads on the Japan brands. I used to drive a Honda, and I know the sort of service they give... Have gotten better service from Kia, and my wife, from Perodua and Honda. Trick is to find a good service centre - I'll admit, some of the service centre people are real morons. And I'm sure Kia salesmen are giving feedback to the HQ in issues - if they can't improve in coming years, they deserve where they go!

Honda once took my car in for service, asked me to collect it in the evening... then when I got home, called me to tell me they forgot to service the car. Now with more volume to handle... you can imagine.

Admission - I'm a repeat Kia owner...

I thought they were targeting August 2019? Why the delay?

I think sedan in that price range and category just too much work for distributor here... too much love for Honda and Toyota in Bolehland, not enough for Kia and Hyundai. Kia will probably focus more on Sportage and Sorrento, as trend these days is SUV/MPV.

The current Cerato SX 2019 is from Korea. There is no mention of CBU.
What is the story? I thought Cerato are now assembled locally.

Initial batch of new model often 'semi-CKD'... if you know what that means... biggrin.gif

Definitely CKD, look at head unit. Seller likely stretching it a bit... a Kia is, after all, a Korean car... made in Malaysia is only a mechanical thing, haha...

GT-Line is just a styling difference. We will be getting the GT right? The 1.6 T-GDI with the DCT.

That is the dream but I'm betting they won't... t

Thanks for the feedback.
How is the reliability and maintenance cost after 5 years?
Browsed thru the thread and some complained rattling dashboard, steering problem, radio reception not clear, etc. Are those issues still occur for current latest batch?
How about the maintenance & spare parts availability after 5 years warranty coverage? There are mix comments that expensive and affordable.
*
If you check the threads for every car manufacturer, here or on FB, you'll find an assortment of problems, some small but niggling, very occasionally major. The Kias are as well made as any other Japanese car in its price range, sometimes better. Some people have their heads stuck deep inside the Honda/Toyota holes, nothing else matters to them but resale value. Of course, the volume of H/Ts sold here makes parts cheaper; scout around and you can find a non-SC workshop that will look after your Kia well and can source for parts.

hi thanks for your reply. Resale value is not really my concern as i plan to use the car for 7 ~ 8 years or even 10 years. And the only things that i concern are reliability and maintenance. Now i'm trying to climb the thread and get the input from owners as well.

Are you planning to buy new or used?
