Hi All K3 owner, saw in mudah.my got one shop sell Kia Cerato for RM64k that still under warranty. Planning to dump 10k for downpayment.

Seeking for advice, is it worth to own Kia Cerato for long term or just go with honda city like mainstream malaysian people?

Is fuel consumption an issue to you? Cerato is definitely more comfortable and fun to drive since it is C segment car..but city is more fuel saving tho..
Both cars also quite mainstream la for me..Just that the amount of City otr is much more than Cerato

If you are going for specs and max enjoyment of the car for the money you pay for, Cerato is the answer. Of course, branding wise, Honda is perceived to be better , at least in our Malaysian market. Cerato is C segment car, the likes of Altis, and Civic, whereas Honda City is more of a B-segment sedan with smaller dimensions both interior and exterior.

I have a city 2015 drove 95k mileage and cerato 8k mileage
City fuel consumption 420km per tank 90% city drive
Cerato 1.6 420km per tank too
Handling city not good as cerato
Sound proof city is damn bad, cerato is better a bit only
Sound system cerato is better a lot !
Power city is better ,cerato feeling heavy .

That what I persona feeling.
In the end I prefer cerato if got the same budget.

If you are claiming insurance, best to go to an authorized Kia Service center, because the cost will be borne by the insurance company. Do make sure that the police report verdict is in your favour, otherwise, it is not possible to "claim" the other party's insurance. In most cases, the workshop will claim against your insurance first, and later, your insurance company will claim against that of the other party. That way, you won't loose your NCB.

The first batch of about 500 units of Kia Cerato back in 2013 were all CBU. After that, they are all CKD /SKD basis.

Most of the specs are the same except the following

Pre-facelift model ( 2013-2016)
* Flex Steer (Comfort / Normal / Sport)

Facelift model ( 2017 - present)
* Smart boot
* Drive Mode Select (Eco, normal and Sport)

Incidentally, since you are asking on used unit, I have one Bright Silver unit of year make 2013 in very good condition. Do inbox me if you are keen to know further. THanks

Hello fellow K3 owners. Been looking at K3 for some time and probably planning to get a used 1.6 (2014-2015) with a budget around 40-45k.

Just wondering if this car is as reliable until today? And how about the fuel consumption btw? Cause one of my friends is driving a K5, though it's 2.0 but he said that it can go around 700-800km for a mixture of both highway and city drive (70% highway) So I'm hoping that this car can go around at least 500km+ with a full tank as it'll be mostly driven around city.

This is my take, the Cerato strenght is not so much on fuel economy as it is a heavier car compared to other B segment 1.5 liter models on the market. However, Cerato prides itself in the many safety features and high tensile steel strenght of its body and reliability.

Having said that, Cerato is not a fuel guzzler but at 1.6 Liter and with 130 ps @ 6000 rpm power and 157 Nm torque, the fuel consumption is reasonable and within expectation of any cars in this class and engine cc.
