QUOTE(LoStBoYz @ Apr 1 2005, 07:22 AM)
Time : 7:22am. Ping : 850+ms (outside game). Why is it that the ping is low in the morning and get progressively worse as it reaches the evening??

If the servers are in NA, then traffic would peak at night as North American businesses ramp up for the working day, thus flooding the bandwith with traffic. The Blizzard servers would be relatively free (presumably not many NA WoW players online during the day)...but it won't do us much good as the bandwith is maxed out.

This is of course, just conjecture. But my experiences with other web services also suffer at night e.g; downloads.... shakehead.gif

All I can say, I've had horrible problems with Streamyx, e.g; my 5 hour death marathon resulting in me progressing one measly level, and that is level 7 to level 8!

Last weekend, I went back to my Kampung in Batu Pahat. Don't have Streamyx there, but I can use dialup. Guess what, I must've spent 10hours playing WoW, and got my character from lvl 8 to lvl 18! I even managed to do some instances (finally! without any disconnects!). Latency around 700-900 range all the way.

Man! Dialup is the way to go for WoW, especially with Streamyx in its current state.

I dunno, streamyx at my bro's place in Tmn Cempaka is terrible. I haven't been there for 2 weeks, so it might have improved. Still, anytime I wanna have a good WoW session, I'll consider dialup. Blizzard did great with the game for dialup users...smile.gif

like I said, i don't get to play online a lot...only on weekends. so, i really want my WoW experience to be enjoyable...and not the dying & rez marathon...stick with streamyx if its of for you. I don't have streamyx at my place (only at my bro's), I don't even have dialup...so my options are pretty limited. I just had a wonderful experience playing WoW on a dialup (never thought it would be 'better' than playing on streamyx)...that's all...

Saturday night, I was on 4k-5k, playing at 10pm (after patching)...., almost gave up as I can't group or take on more than 1 mob at a time...By 12midnight, what a change! I got 500-600 up to 2.30pm I logged off...This is at my bro.s house, on Streamyx with a Wifi router.

looking good, but only after 12midnight.

I've resorted to dial-ups to really enjoy WoW. I had a nightmare session of 5 hours dying/rez to only gain 1 measly lvl! On dial-up, the exerience is musch more tolerable...Since I'm only playing WoW once in a while, that's the best way for me. Streamyx is OK after 12 midnight...but wince we play US servers, that's also when they start logging off to go to work!

Just wondering if anyone plays WoW over wireless connection e.g; Jaring WBB, 3G or Streamyx Wireless or any wireless/satelite BB service i.e; other than DSL??

I'm seriously thinking about getting a JWBB set.
