Haven't release yet. Should be out on the 4th or 5th.
Don't think it'll be a good one though, sequels always sucks

Chapter 1 & 2 was nice. But they changed director for this chapter 3. Have to give it a try.

Insidious: Chapter 3 (2015)

Let's talk about Leigh Whannell.

Who is Leigh Whannell?

He is the person who wrote the Insidious trilogy with James Wan.

You'll probably know him as the character Specs in the trilogy.

Now, why do I want to talk about Leigh Whannell?

I just want to reassure you Insidious Chapter 3 is in good hands.

How can it be not?

This trilogy are as much his babies as they are James Wan's!!!

First thing first, it is a prequel (it started before Insidious 1, and a few years after Elise helped the young Josh Lambert character).

The movie started out slow. Maybe a little too slow.

When we first see Elise, you know something is wrong with her...

This movie is mainly about the Brenner family.

Dermot Mulroney plays Sean Brenner (the father) and Stefanie Scott plays Quinn Brenner, his daughter who cannot wait until she is grown up and can move away. Quinn Brenner reminds me of the elder sister in Mrs Doubtfire...

Okay, here is the real surprise.

The cinema I was in was about 40% full.

Lots of giggling, lots of whispering...

Here is the surprise, when the scary bits happened, the GUYS screamed the loudest.

Not the "I want to scare my girlfriend kinda scream". More like "I don't believe my girlfriend is making me watch this scream"!!!

Okay, where was I... Right, started out slow, Things pick up after the slow start and when things go bump in the night, IT DOES NOT STOP BUMPING!!! (Hence all the manly screams.... )

SO, it it better then the last two... I would have to say almost.

I think 1 & 2 works better because of the "power couple" Patrick Wilson & Rose Byrne. Here we only have Dermot Mulroney to hold down the fort and a little brother Tate Berney, who really does nothing.

Also nice to see how Elise, Spec and Tucker, "hooked up"

Leigh Whannell is not as masterful as James Wan with his beats (timing) and have to add, he is damn close!!

I do not mind it if they actually make 4. I would pay money to see it!!

GO watch this. You know you want to.

movie quite nice and some scenes are predictable.don't expect as scary as the conjuring.

Does it directly continue from Insidious 2? I have watched Insidious 1 but have not watched 2, so will I miss out anything or seem lost if I watch 3 now?

the movie pattern becoming like paranormal activity, prequel

Chapter 1 & 2, introduce the movie. Chapter 3 tell the story before it happen.

Was OK, not better than the original and the sequel but OK. Nowhere close to The Conjuring, that's for sure.

just re-watched insidious one...it does make sense once you watched this 3rd chapter and re-watch first insidious again

After rewatching Insidious Part 1, which I truly regret... Its even more scarier than Insidious Chapter 3!!

Just watch it. Wasn't that scary. But if you are a fan of the insidious franchise then yea it was good story. Can't wait for part 4. Hopefully they make it and make it soon.

watched the first 1, never watched the 2nd one,

watched the 3rd 1 n to my surprise it was a very entertaining horror movie (apart from the meh 3rd act). everything leading up to the 3rd act was brilliant. in fact the whole cinema was noisy (a nice kind of noisy btw) because the patrons could not stop talking about jumpscares after effective jumpscares they were put up to lol.

Evening

Insidious Chapter 3

Boring at first.

Manage to stay awake by the cliché element of surprise.

Excitement began after an hour.




Maul was in the previous movie.

This time it's Vader's turn

A cross between Vader and The Orcs

Good luck finding 'The Big Show' too

This movie was good but like the first 2 were! I did like it, gave me chills at certain parts of the movie but not like the first one did that is for sure.

Insidious: The Last Key (2018)

Oh boys....

This is a tough one.

I wanted SO much to like this movie...

Okay, here goes.

the first Insidious was.... Ingenious.

It took a very un-horror approach to make a horror movie.

Also, the Astral projection thingie threw people like me for a loop.

The second and third was good, not as great as the first, but each had new things to add to the "franchise".

Now, coming back to the fourth, I don't believe I am saying this, it suffers from sequel fatigue...

What do I mean?

It is difficult to make sequels because

1). People expect more and still remain the same as the original.

2). If it is to similar to the original, people will cry foul. (Kingsman: The Golden Circle, I am looking at you...)

Which brings me to quote the The Wachowski Brothers (Sisters?) said, "for a sequel to work, you really ought to expanse the universe of the first movie", which stuntman/director Chad Stahelski took to heart when he did John Wick and John Wick 2.

So... Leigh Whannell came back as the story and script writer, and I am not sure, is he suffering from writers fatigue? Why? The story is.... thin... Sound premise, but thin (he did not even give the Demon with key fingers any form of back story... EXTREMELY lazy...)

Director Adam Robitel did no favour to the thin script... His directions were so... uninspired (eg. going thru the motions??)

So... No positives.

Well, some...

Elise Rainier character is giving an origins.

And this, like Insidious 3, is the prequel to 1 & 2, the story does suggest a "Replacement" of sorts for Elise (if you remember, she passed on in the first one), if they do make Insidious 5, and the replacement has... potential.

As thin as the story is, it does loop to the first movie, making it a Tetralogy (four part movies, should they choose to retire the franchise).

I really cannot see anything else positive to say at this point...

Again, I was disappointed.

Patrick Wilson (who plays Josh Lambert) is directing this? Really? Can he direct?

We are getting ahead of ourselves.

Although this is the fifth movie in this movie series, it is actually a direct sequel to Insidious 1 & 2.

It does take place 10 years after Insidious 2.

All the kids are bigger

The first part of the movie really shows off Patrick Wilson as a director.

It is obvious that the movie had been storyboard (pre-viz) I cannot fault (personally I would have added an additional setup scene, but I ain't no director) the first act!



My, how Ty Simpkins had grown.

It is a shame we may not get to see him as the next Iron Man in MCU because it is now M-SHE-U...

The frst two acts were great.

I would have added a little to the third act



There are complains online about it being boring. I admit same parts of the second and third acts could have been trimmed and overall I thought the movie was a tad short!

If you like the first and second Insidious, chances are you will like this!!

I know I did!
