Should be able to do so. I just did it last week. Box year 2016 according to the sticker at the bottom of the box.
1) call TM for the hyptv ID for login later
2) reset factory setting
3) enable wifi
4) try to login to playstore
5) if ok, then install what ever apps u want. if u want to sideload, just install ES explorer
6) launch hyptv apps, login using the ID retrieved in step (1)

p/s: reset factory setting will help to settle lots of issue. this is based on my experience helping friends/relatives.

The new hyptv box also comes with optical/spdif output port. U can also use the provided AV cable, plug in to the box AV out.. connect red/white cable to ur HT.

you can only install hyptv everywhere apps (playstore or appstore) or access via web browser eg chrome for pc /mac.

the same apps installed on HyppTV unifi set top box is not available for other devices.

Can use it. Just sideload the APK. I was Olympics channels earlier using this method and sometimes watch free channels on my HyppTV Everywhere too since I got this box from my friend and it obviously cannot bind my own HyppTV account (from UniFi).

exactly correct bos. they only way to watch the hyptv channel on other devices is using hyptv everywhere apk. some devices might say not compatible in playstore, just sideload it.

This Huawei EC6108V8 box is fine. Probably first time login will have issue, so just download on another device using PlayStore or Apps Store and first time login from there. Then, will have no issue anymore to login from box.

Unable to install Iflix to the box. Installed Iflix to my Sony Android TV. Using remote to navigate is so tedious.

Just sideload the APK. It works for me. After installed don't open it yet, open iflix.com from browser and it will detect you on UniFi. Then, open the app, you will be logged in.

Anyone managed to change the "wm size 1920x1080" command on their STB?
I get WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS exception.

Do you guys knows that the EC6108V8 set it to 1280x720 resolution by default?

I think this box is only capable for 720p maximum, I can see that from my YouTube. Anybody feel free to correct me.

Yes, you are correct. I can confirm this with trying to play 1080p video on YouTube app and it just not not playing the video but can hear the audio in the background only.

But this contradicts with the option in the Settings page where we can select 1080p@60, 1080p@50, 1080i@60, etc...
