You mean to play standard Unifi TV channels? Nah, it's just not logical for such.. Even know, the average person doesn't understand how Wifi works and how to deal with interference, etc. Using a cable is and should be a best option for a long time to come. Then there's the whole dedicated bandwidth to contend with. Currently, IPTV has it's dedicated line and not disturbed by even the heaviest internet user on the account. But if on wifi? the IPTV will suffer.. which will lead to more complaints. But can they make it an option? possible, but from a biz point of view, why would you open yourselves to more customer complaints when the current model works and works well. If your install absolutely needs the box far away from the main router? Either run a single cable (strongly advised) to the box or use other means such as the powerline adapters..

So it is nothing to do with where you installed it from, it is to do with Astro is determined to make usage of this app on Android TV and TV boxes difficult.

In their app they have server configured business rules that give special exception to devices from TM but that does not seem to work out well at this moment, seems TM unifi users also got locked out from using it properly.
