I'n using this. No problem but you need to get a USB male to female extender. a USB hub will do. because it comes with the cable. Put the USB facing front and you will get further distant to control the STB.

It's disappointed to see that this STB only 10/100Mbps.

How fast is your transmission? you most understand giga-speed network doesn't work alone, That's many things to consider.

100 downlink, 50 uplink.
But that's beside the point. I need giga speed for LAN streaming of 4K content.

Post a screen shots of your transferring rate. You can even do a test by transferring your files within hard drive/partition. that should be faster than any of the network speed you can have.

You do not need an extender.. The whole point of such wireless over IR is that one does not have to deal with line of sight.. Plug in usb receiver/dongle into box.. place connected device anywhere within remote's range and it'll work..Subject to interference.. biggrin.gif

For TM's requirement... It's more than sufficient.. They provided the device for hypptv viewing.. anything else it's capable of is an added extra.. Want more? get more..

before I need to seat next to my TV, now I'm seating on my sofa 16" away to control the STB using the mini-keyboard.

I see.. Well, that either means that remote is quite subpar or the STB is shittier than I know.. laugh.gif ... I've had similar controller in the past with a Noontec A9 tv box (lower specced device than STB). Had a "touchpad" and everything and it was plug, tuck device away and play.. Currently been using the Minix Neo A2 Lite for a few years and same thing.. Plug dongle in, tuck device away behind TV on stand and use device from far.. I'm able to play/switch tracks from the Kitchen (don't ask what's cooking, tongue.gif ), a wall away from the living room where the Neo U1 and dongle is, and the dongle picks up on the signals..

I believed is noise interference. All my devices are inside the cabinet, the wireless routers, my wireless Apple capsule, Apple TV located at the same place. Anyway! adding the USB Hub also expended the USB ports. I have wireless mouse, I8 mini-keyboard & Portable drive also working together with this STB. Originally it only has 2 USB ports which is not enough.

Makes sense... my devices are arranged in a manner that eliminates as much interference as possible.. So far, all good..

That's a new one... Might want to call TM to fix or replace the device.

You got the newest version v9. Did you try to perform update.zip to enable playstore back?
If yes, should've checked first - that's for v8.
Try going back into recovery, then update using the one already on internal memory.
