Malaysians face poverty after retirement as pension crisis looms
Many Malaysians dipped into their pension during pandemic, but 81 percent of contributors face poverty in retirement.
Such statistics is not that encouraging for the development...

If this turns out right, we can only expect T20 are the only ones able to afford

I fear even that RM5k to RM7k may not be enough to be honest

Government body or GLC should step into this kind of senior living or retirement resort.

I always feel like KWSP should have this kind of scheme to attract old people to save money in KWSP and utilize the money into this kind of retirement resort. This will allow KWSP to retain member to not withdraw all their saving out and KWSP have huge fund to continue to invest and pay dividend to members.

Example people who participate into this scheme should have allocate their KWSP fund into retiree house expenses, anticipate daycare cost, medical treatment (use KWSP fund to buy insurance medical card) etc. People who has RM 1m in saving maybe can have RM 500k allocate for this scheme after retirement. Members do not need to worry about food, accommodation, medication treatment etc. The left over saving in KWSP can continue to earn dividend as extra cash for members or for the beneficiary. When member pass away the KWSP saving will be inherited by the beneficiary.

There are some cases people who got RM1m saving in KWSP and after 55yo fully withdraw. Some cases they miss use their saving and left nothing in age of 60yo or fraud scam cases all saving gone. How do they able to retire then. If they got children they can beg children to take care but nowadays many couples or single without child. We should look into this kind of retirement schme to secure our retirement while financial allow (or before scammed or miss use).

The min cost start from RM 8k monthly onward. 1 year is about RM100k and 10 years already RM1m. The cost is rather high maybe also due to the location is in centre of Sunway city.
