QUOTE(HaloJ @ May 30 2015, 03:12 PM) Hi guys, good grips u will suffer FC abit, so if u want good grips u cant get better fc than ur current, PS3 last abit longer, above average for both wet n dry, all rounder to me. Swap your tyres every 20k-30k, check tyre alignment every 10k, then ur tyre sure last longerSince my tyre not in good condition, so I'm planning to change my tyre to either Bridgestone Potenza RE003 or Michelin PS3. Current tyre: Size: 195/60R15 Model: Bridgestone MY-02 Plan to change to use 55 series. Any suggestion or comment on these 2 tyres? I need tyre which more fuel efficiency, good grips, good handling and reduce tyre noise. Thanks for your comments. |

QUOTE(samwongjyhhorng @ Jun 4 2015, 05:44 PM) If ps3 and 3st,which one is better?my ride is mazda 5 2012.main concern is comfort and quiet ride.i get rm350 per pcs for 3st and rm356 per pcs for ps3.price is b4 gst. If you want comfort and quite ride, 3ST is designed exactly as your requirement. And don't forget to check with the shop around how many thousands of kilometer usage then you'll need to do tyre rotation, balancing and alignment. |

QUOTE(samwongjyhhorng @ Jun 4 2015, 09:49 PM) I've tested 3ST tyre before, high speed wet and dry cornering, the tyre still stick to the road, didn't feel losing confidence with it's grip. Of course I don't recommend you to try the tyre limits on the road or even on track, it is designed for road usage, not racing or even drifting.QUOTE(kohchuup @ Jun 4 2015, 10:57 AM) good grips u will suffer FC abit, so if u want good grips u cant get better fc than ur current, PS3 last abit longer, above average for both wet n dry, all rounder to me. Pls don't compare GY Eagle F1 directional 5 with either PS3 or RE003, only the bigger brother Asymmetric 2 can compete with these tyres.
If you prefer an all rounder by all means go for PS3, if otherwise mainly on dry grip performance then RE003. |

RE003 Traction A & Temperature A only. Whereas PS3 is AA & A. And bear in mind the flagship for Bridgestone in passenger range is the S001, which is quite old already. If you prefer an all rounder by all means go for PS3, if otherwise mainly on dry grip performance then RE003. I used PS3, then GY F1 D5 and now RE003. Hands down, best tire is PS3. It is the tire of choice if they were all the same price. Between F1 D5 and RE003, the F1 is AA & A as well. Among all 3, the tread wear is the lowest on the Bridgestone. I haven't been able to gauge the RE003 in heavy downpour yet, but for dry, it sticks. One thing is certain, its stiffer than both the PS3 & GY F1 D5. Noise I can't tell cause temporarily my exhaust is on full ah beng mode. Between the F1 D5 and PS3, the most significant difference is the aquaplane resistance on the PS3, and how it is unwavering in heavy downpour. F1 D5 can get a bit jittery at times in the wet, but regain composure very fast. As for the grip in the dry (no, I didn't whack corners in the wet I'm not crazy). Both grips well, the difference is PS3 is linear, more gradual, you can feel it starts to understeer when it can't make it, no drama, no fuss, just chill. The F1 D5 starts to under sooner than the PS3 (same corner, outside my house, daily route), and rolls a bit more than the PS3, less precise feeling. Frankly speaking, for normal driving on public roads, they are both good enough, but the confidence in the wet for PS3 is well worth the price premium. RE003.. I haven't whack enough yet, let it scrub in a bit. But initial impressions, stiffer/harsher than both. Among the 3 I feel F1 D5 more comfortable, quieter. And F1 D5 tread wear very the good, long lasting. When I changed from PS3 to F1 D5, price difference was ~RM20 per donut. Now that I know how they compare, I'll choose PS3 cause the RM20 extra is damn worth it for the confidence in wet. Then this RE003 came into the picture. For the price of 3 x PS3, I get 4x RE003. So here I am. |

Yup.. i've used F1D5 back to back with PS3.. really no contest.. F1D5 will aquaplane even when new.. to me f1d5 is just a touring tire..If you prefer an all rounder by all means go for PS3, if otherwise mainly on dry grip performance then RE003. |

i've been on PS3 for more then 6 years.. so far i try to read review or feedback from other tyre to change.. but non of them as good as PS3 which is winner for all rounder.. the only weakness of PS3 is soft sidewall which make aggressive or hard maneuver will make it wobble..
before i change to PS3 for the 1st time, i use Hankook V8RS which is really good on wet and dry (i remember i can speed up until 160km/h in heavy downpour using 205/45/16 tyre size which make it quite awesome tyre).. harder sidewall then PS3 which make hard turn very stable.. but the production end so early, so no more in market, so that's why i choose PS3 which until now i really cant change my mind to try other tyre because non of them as good as Hankook V8RS as for RE003, its for occasional track day user.. not daily with heavy downpour rain and silent tyre.. but the grip is marvelous and its sidewall is harder then PS3.. so its not family cars tyre with better grip in wet and dry.. |

If the shop give you free alignment due to buying 4 new tires then just go ahead. If not free then no need, you can just try it first to see how your car feels after tire change. If you feel the steering is not straight anymore then do alignment, if not then why need to pay for it?As for camber screws, again the same, is the camber measurements really out?? If not then why need to have? So pay attention to your alignment measurements and see if really need such camber screws, don't just blindly follow what the mechanic tell you because more often than not they will try to con you to spend as much as possible. |
