Is it possible to add a click counter to our signatures? I found a few sites that offers free download for click counters, but modification is normally done on the server side.

It's possible but I don't see the usefulness of it.

Try looking for a 3rd party redirector that counts hits for you (the resulting URL should be like http://www.clickcounter.com/?redirect=http...uroriginallink).

No, I'm just curious if this can be done client side without tinkering with server's settings.
