QUOTE(MGM @ May 27 2015, 10:44 AM) If I switch from Utility to Grocery category and it is effective in June2015 and (a) I make a Grocery swipe on 30-May which is posted on 1-Jun, will I earn the 10% CB? (b) I make a Utility swipe on 30-May which is posted on 1-Jun, will I earn the 10% CB? The transaction will be counted(qualified 10 transactions) in June2105 as it is posted in June? item 13 . How will I know which merchants are eligible for cash back in a particular category? An extensive range of merchants who are eligible for cash back are listed here and it will be updated periodically. Do note that cash back will be awarded based on merchant's corresponding Merchant Category Code (MCC) being assigned on each categories. The assignment of merchant category for each merchant is subject to classification by respective acquiring banks.
Can't find the list here. QUOTE(kelvinlzy @ Jul 1 2014, 11:35 AM) A thing to share from my friend, He changed his category from dining to utilities on May and performed the transaction of utilities (pay TNB at payonline) on 30th April. The transaction was posted on 2nd May but when he received his statement on the first week of June, he found out that the transaction was not tagged with the category of utilities. However subsequent utilities transactions made in May were all tagged as utilities category so he doesn’t think it is the MCC code problem. He thinks that it was the transaction date that matters as in April his selected categories were dining and petrol, not utilities. He has raised this issue to HLB CS and they are still checking for him. I thought since the posting date is in May so he will get the rebate. But not in this case? So any idea what is the problem? QUOTE(janson_kaniaz @ May 29 2015, 11:45 AM) in order to participate for the 30% weekend rebate i have to SMS W2/W3/W4 what is W2/W3/W4 etc? These codes are sort of like a survey did by HLB to categorize the cardholders where they got the info about this 30% cash back campaign. Eg W1 is from sms blasting and you replied W1, meaning you fall into this category, W2 from email flyer/brochures, W3 from website, etc etc. Btw anyone already completed their 3 weekday swipes? I almost forgot

Refer my explanation below for W1/W2 etc... QUOTE(vez @ Aug 2 2015, 10:10 PM) is this card the 10 x RM50 transaction means to spend on the category we chose? just to double confirm, heard different type of statement elsewhere Not necessary, you may spend on other categories which you didn't select, but with zero cash back. With that being said, just spend on your selected categories

QUOTE(vez @ Aug 2 2015, 10:21 PM) erm, is that means if i chose dining for cash rebate if i spend 10 x RM50+ on any other, the same month i only spend once for dining @ RM100 is that mean i will entitle 10% rebate from the dining bill? thanks. As long as you have activated the cash back (10 x RM50) regardless any category, your RM100 dining bill will be entitled for the rebate. You can also include the RM100 dining bill in your 10x transactions as well since it already exceed RM50. This post has been edited by kelvinlzy: Aug 2 2015, 10:36 PM

QUOTE(yawchoong @ Aug 4 2015, 01:32 AM) Let's say my TNB Bill is RM200, I would like to split into RM50 x 4 times. Besides using UOB Payonline What others way I can pay my TNB Bill RM50 x 4 times through internet? Option 1: Posonline, although you will be charged for 2% convenient fee. Option 2: M2U, you need to register your Wise card first and it will take 1-2 working days to be approved.

QUOTE(red_scorpion @ Aug 5 2015, 03:28 PM) what is SADA? you meant the utilities not limited to TNB and SYABAS only? others type of utilities also will get 10%? how about DBKL, MPSJ cukai pintu bill? tq Syarikat Air Darul Aman, in my statement it came out Jab Bekalan Air Kedah. I'm afraid that's all utilities gonna cover, electricity and water, as per their T&C. QUOTE(ckuanglim @ Aug 5 2015, 04:01 PM) Nope. I tried before. QUOTE(Pistacio @ Aug 5 2015, 04:32 PM) if you buy off contract phone from Maxis center, does it cover as mobile category? Maybe but not advisable as you still need 9x RM50 to qualify for the cash back. QUOTE(Wind82 @ Aug 5 2015, 04:53 PM) Hi guys, For the 30% weekend cash back. We need to swipe 3 times any amount during weekdays right? Can I just swipe 3 x RM 1 at petrol station? Anyone tried this? Yup, I suppose you can but why would you swipe at petrol station when you can simply pay online with a simple click? Also, swiping a consecutive number of time at petrol station will get your card blocked due to fraud suspicion by bank.

QUOTE(victorywp @ Aug 5 2015, 08:10 PM) some people thought of this because: 1) 3 x rm1 only cost rm3 2) perhaps petrol is not one of his selected category so this would be the lowest cost to get him being entitled for the 30% in the weekend 3) even if the petrol is in his selected category, but maybe he forgotten or did not managed to do 3 swipes, so thinking of this to hit it in the last minute no, 3 times is still ok. Ok, no point to keep it as a secret anymore, I only swiped RM0.10 x 3 for TNB via UOBpayonline and still entitled for Week Two 30%

QUOTE(CalvinCLK @ Aug 7 2015, 09:26 AM) I just received my statement and found that Sushi Zanmai was not tagged as Dining under the Category column (I selected Petrol & Dining as my category, but requested to change it end July to Petrol & Grocery and effective Sept - from the SMS I received). Called the CS but they say it's still under Dining. But it's weird that it didnt show up as Dining (MCC 5814). The CS representative told me that sometimes the system may not capture. Screenshot of statement [attachmentid=4704651] Anyone encounter before? What is the exact date you requested to change category? Has it shown on your statement / unbilled transaction yet? IIRC, any request made before 27th will take effect on 1st next month while after 27th will take effect on 1st next 2 month.

QUOTE(kremlin @ Aug 10 2015, 01:47 PM) not really, only 30% on everything I spent (in the 3 eligible categories) easily spent RM500 on groceries every month. Yeah me too. The idea of spending more to earn max rebate defeats my purpose of using CC in the first place. I know you can buy grocery vouchers and others, but I have way too many vouchers in my drawer right now

QUOTE(LostAndFound @ Aug 10 2015, 02:03 PM) Supersound's tactic is to buy milo and then sell to kedai runcit at listed price. You can try if you want. QUOTE(kremlin @ Aug 10 2015, 03:33 PM) If you have too many grocery vouchers, then switch to other categories and start using the grocery vouchers Thanks for the advice guys. I might spend on utilities and mobile only, they still can help me cover at least RM500.
