My current CPU temperature when idle is 50 celsius while full load is 65 celsius when playing fifa 2007.

I plan to change my heatsink or jz by applying artic silver 5. What do u all think? If heatsink the budget is around RM180.

I have considered two heatsink so far...Please give some comments

1)Coolermaster Hyper 6+ around RM210
2)Thermaltake SI-120

Do they compatible with my motherboard? I read adi it is compatible wif my socket 478. The SI-120 wil it too big? SInce my motherboard not much space left.

If anyone can find a better heatsink and cheaper which enable the cpu run below 45 celsius. Please do tell me...Thanks ya...

xp90c isn't cheap...anyway...the bulk order went till RM160 or RM170 after tax.

Try consider arctic freezer, affordable and pretty decent performance but then expecting to run 45c from originally 65c is kinda "impossible".....

How about Ultra-90? Tuniq?

My processor is 2.8E. XP-90C, the heatsink there stated that it support 3.0E or higher. So it is compatible wif mine one? Or i just care bout the socket type that it stated? My original fan and heatsink for processor is Intel one. I have seen a lot of user say that by using hyper 6+ from coolermaster it will cool down the temperature less than 50 celsius. Than if i install too, then my cpu temperature should b around tat too rite?

Do you have a side duct getting cool air from outside your casing to your current heatsink fan? It will drop temps by a couple C, more effect than lapping or changing thermal compound. Lapping only has a significant effect when your thermal compound is really lousy or contact surfaces aren't flat-use a ruler to check. My pipe 101 dropped 3-4C just by adding the vent, now after sealing the fan frame from leaking air past the heatsink my full load temp has dropped from 62C (before vent & sealing) to 56C. When I set the fan speed to max it gets even better, 52C. Previously even at max fan speed it will be at 58-59C.
