Other day I installed a simple Asus O!Play media player to my Kenwood Multimedia HU with HDMI input. Its all usable. As long conditions are 1)12V DC input, 2)HDMI cable to HU, then its usable. DC power to the Media Player is a specially made cigarette lighter cable and plug to Asus DC input. One can DIY this, just ensure the correct polarity and fuse it at 5Amps, no more for safety reasons. Drawback is the aspect ratio of the HU display is not exactly correct. The HU display is at 480P (rather low), 800 X 480 pixel display. I think its a nice add on and can decode anything from HDD and to the limitations of AV format. The car HU is limited on many format types.
Having said this I do NOT encourage drivers to watch videos while driving although this is for passengers. This is just a simple trial exercise since its HDMI ready with a dangling HDMI cable at dash bottom, I've not figured where to place the Asus and HDD..Glovebox maybe?

"If standard-resolution audio files sounded very good through the HDP-R1, hi-rez files sounded even better. With the HDP-R1 downconverting to 24/96 FLAC and playing 24/192 files I’d ripped from R.E.M.’s In Time: The Best of R.E.M. 1988-2003 (DVD-Audio, Warner Bros. 9362483819), the sound was dynamic, yet rich and smooth. The lush, soothing arrangement of "Everybody Hurts" was juxtaposed with Michael Stipe’s anguished voice as he conveys the song’s painful but ultimately hopeful message. The playful "Stand" was densely layered, with excellent imaging of instruments and voices, both laterally and from front to back. Although the bass in "Stand" is not especially deep, it was incredibly tight and punchy, with great pace. Whether it was the catchy pop sounds of R.E.M. or the perfectly recorded performance of Mozart’s Violin Concerto No.4, K.218, by Marianne Thorsen and the Trondheimsolistene (24/96 FLAC, 2L/HDtracks), or anything in between, hi-rez recordings always sounded superbly detailed, natural, and free-flowing through the HDP-R1."
What's exciting is that it can deliver 24/96 downsampled from 24/192 which is a bonus and Toslink it to any dsp ie helix dsp it'll be a blast. It has android control app too so abit convenience.
So bro can you test this for me to see if your android can control the player to play flac out of playlist. This can be another replacement for that expensive audison bitplay hd. If you have a dsp that is.

Sorry but I don't get what you mean. In short, it much depend on the player and what format it can decode. Like mine, it can decode an album ripped to APE or Flac, then got cue sheet. The Asus will play the cue sheet like a playlist, then downstream to HD Audio as set within the MP settings. The car HU only act as an amplifier through its HDMI input. Note: Only certain higher end Multimedia HU have HDMI input, not older models. I'm referring to mine which is a 2014/2015 model with lots of features including HDMI input and MHL compatibility. BTW, there's no Android factor in this setup. The media player is controlled by its own remote control, just like you would if patched to home TV. In this case the car HU is the "TV".

No i mean from asus oplay you output audio only through spdif port directly to standalone dsp. Thats why i said if you have a standalone dsp like Helix dsp, alpine pxa h800 or anything similar in order to receive audio signal from oplay. Im not talking about channeling audio through hdmi. In other word im looking at it as digital audio player.
For android command app, although it's used on other version, you may want to try it like in this source:
But yes as you said there's no app for android as i cant find anything on google play store about it, asustek might have pulled.out the app
I think we're not on the same wave about the Asus O'play. Mine is the RM200 O!play mini..the no frills media box which have only HDMI and RCA output. I plug the HDMI from Asus to Kenwood HU HDMI input, so the HU act as digital video and audio just like TV. Control is via Asus provided remote. There's no Android control in the equation.
Just to vent my silent frustration, actually Myvi is a terrible candidate for ICE installation and great sound, which I don't think it can be optimized to be on par with many other cars I can think of, especially those with a proper boot and rear deck loudspeakers. I had to spend some money on Dynamat damping the door internals. Even the Persona with standard OEM speakers and nothing else done other than change to HU sound better than my Myvi with upgraded ICE hardware.

Ah sorry but I think I oberlooked this one since the system doesn't report a reply if without a quote. Yes a myvi seems now the Achilles Heel that my sifu suggested me to look for another car like vios or wish at least for ICE. It says that the compactness of myvi is squeezing the sound. Then prolly the battery is just
I was thinking of Celica 7th gen now. That thing looks good and have quite good spec than a myvi despite being a year older than Myvi first gen. Now I have quite a purchasing power that if I can refuse a few business offer then I might be able to gun down a good set of ICE.

My opinion is I think the problem lies with the rear door installation. I don't really like door speakers, and won't beat 6 X 9 speakers installed at the rear deck tray. My previous cars all had speakers at the rear deck, but that was long ago. Bigger speakers than 6" offer better bass and resolve. 6" speakers can only give so much bass, no more. I'm looking around for a spare deck tray, buy matching 6 X 9 speaker pair and I'm confident it'll improve the sound overall. Meanwhile I think I'll live with what I've already spent till I'm ready to buy.

Well, back then i was thinking of upgrading the rear speaker to couple with current system but yea like i said it's a tuning nightmare. Talk about myvi, the car space is a bit cramp that the aound doesn't really bloom to create a bigger stage. I might have to postponed the upgrade plan because of the car internal size and not because of the oem positions.
you seems like havent listen to a properly installed 6" mid in car subless setup... yes myvi has its weakness.... but it could be over come with a few tricks on the door and the dash... it usually depends on your installer whether they know how to do it or they want to do it or not....
Yes, believe I've done quite a lot, entirely DIY from HU installation to speakers, wiring and all. The rear door and front speakers was a careful straight swap. The rear doors are all padded with original Dynamat butimen sheets, the plastic panels with insulflex padding. The new Kenwood 4 channel power amp under the front seat tray, and Kenwood sub under driver seat. There could be remaining mods but I chose not to go too far. I'm still pondering on adding 6 X 9 speakers on the rear deck, that would suffice some shortcomings.

myvis needs extra bracing on the doors for the mid basses to be performing at their optimum levels... which in most cases needs some welding job to install...
