The vehicles, purchased with part of the $3 Billion USD military aid from Saudi Arabia, will reduce the workload of the elderly M113 armored vehicles in the Lebanese Army. The VBC 90 is a 6x6 armoured vehicle manufactured by the French Company Renault based on the VAB 4x4 armoured personnel carrier. The VBC 90 has been used by the French Gendarmerie since 1983 and now it is no longer in service. The VBC 90 is armed with a long-barrelled Giat Industries 90 mm F1 gun with a 35º oblique wedge breech block, a hydropneumatic recoil system, a thermal sleeve and a muzzle brake. There are 20 rounds of ready to use 90 mm ammunition carried, four in the turret basket and 16 in the turret bustle. Mounted coaxially to the left of the main armament is a 7.62 mm machine gun and there are two electrically operated 80 mm smoke grenade dischargers mounted either side of the turret towards the rear. |

QUOTE(MilitaryMadness @ Jun 11 2015, 03:20 PM) ![]() Nice fact: Vietnam People's Armed Forces currently has 24 Scud launchers with about 100 missiles, almost all of it is aimed at the PRC . And they're are capable of producing the Scud-B missiles by themselves. That's a 100 more missiles Malaysia doesn't have haha |

QUOTE(MilitaryMadness @ Jun 24 2015, 12:34 PM) But I hear some types of heavier CCG ships are used more often in certain seas. Especially more hostile ones like Japan, Pinoy or Vietnam. For example, the two 12,000 ton CCG ships will mainly be deployed to East China sea and confront the Japanese, who China view as their most capable and dangerous adversary. Dont know....maybe. but those that we met quite big already |

QUOTE(KYPMbangi @ Jun 29 2015, 11:31 AM) Butterworth base is already been planned for a land-swap redevelopment, new air base is planned at Ara kuda But I still salute to the journalist...... this is the issue that ignored by ppl especially those higher authorities. Many bases have this kind of problem...which is not supposed to beThe journalist probably never heard of planespotters, any pictures taken outside the base looking into the base or the planes in it is not against the law (more like there's no law for it) and these guys can literally camp just outside the security fence The problem with butterworth is that its an old legacy ww2 british airbase and any expansion is out of the question, so the air force have planned it to move to new location in few years time |
