Indon should be really check they can maintain those toys they purchase.
Initial cost is cheaper than a few years operating cost.
the cost should not add maintenance, parts and supports, even simulator. total cost should around 5X million each. i seems some country break the procurement to many contract, so give impression not too high figure.

Well to be fair global ship design from scratch while our sgpv based on gowind though they put up a major redesigning work based on our requirements. it could be faster though if bns nodded on the initial request of the tldm.
not sure what design requirement, i See DCNS own design Gowind 2500t more than enough, all weapon and spec we want also can fit it. than it can start built faster, no to own copyright 3000t (extra cost), unless future AAW version base on this.
does anyone know how many CB-90 does the RMN operate?there are conflicting numbers from online sources and there were news that RMN is getting more for ESSCOM..
well Wiiki listed we have 17 cb90, than last year order 12 more for esccom. than should be around 27+- ....
one more Pirates hijack ...... seriusly if no mmea/navy ship frequenly park there, this will keep happend, no one inform MMEA ? mmea only get report at 6.30am.
Pirates hijack M’sian oil tanker
PETALING JAYA: A Malaysian-flagged oil tanker was hijacked off the east coast.
An International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) report said armed men boarded the ship at a spot 14km southwest of Pulau Aur near Mersing on Thursday.
“They took all crew members as hostages, altered the ship’s course and transferred the oil,” the Commercial Crime Services report said.
Before leaving, the pirates stole items belonging to the ship and its crew, and damaged its radios. The ship later sailed to a safe port.
A Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) official confirmed the hijacking and identified the ship as the Orkim Victory.
“The ship safely arrived in Kuantan at 7pm Thursday,” MMEA C3i (Command, Control, Communication and Information) director Capt Hamid Mohd Amin told The Star.
Hamid said the ship’s 18 crew members were safe and that the pirates fled to Pulau Matek in the Anambas Islands region in Indonesia and that the Indonesian Coast Guard were told of the hijacking. He added that MMEA was investigating the case.
Maritime news portal IHS Maritime 360 said the ship was sailing from Sungai Udang in Malacca to Kuantan before the hijacking.
According to an April 21 ICC report, more than half of piracy and armed robbery incidents between January and March took place in Asean waters.
An ICC piracy and armed robbery map showed that three other incidents, including two hijackings, took place in waters off Mersing’s coast this year.
MMEA’s southern region public relation officer Lt Mohd Sufian Anuar said the agency had been deploying more of it assets to beef up patrols.
He said hijacking cases in the state increased by 25% to 30% over the past three years.
“We had about six hijack cases in 2013, 10 were recorded in 2014 and two cases this year, most of which involved oil tankers,” he said.
Lt Mohd Sufian said that the agency had been increasing patrols especially around the borders of Thailand and Indonesia.
“We are using more assets to increase patrols especially at hotspots for hijackings, including Pengerang in Kota Tinggi and Pulau Aur in Mersing.
“We also launched an operation early this year, which led to the arrest of a group of pirates who had tried to hijack a vessel carrying 700 tonnes of marine fuel oil in January.” sos lanun
Government Will Go All Out To Locate Missing Oil Tanker - Najib
KUALA LUMPUR, June 14 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said the government will go all out to locate the oil tanker which went missing with 22 crew 30 nautical miles east of Tanjung Sedili, Kota Tinggi, Johor on Thursday.
Najib said he was distressed by the news and prayed for the safety of all crew on board.
"I am distressed by the news of a missing Malaysian-owned tanker. I pray for the safety of the 22-strong crew, 16 of whom are Malaysians.
"My thoughts are with their families. The government will deploy our resources to locate it," he said in his latest post on his Twitter and Facebook sites Sunday.
The Malaysian-registered vessel MT Orkim Harmony with 6,000 metric tonnes of RON95 petrol was sailing from Malacca to Kuantan when it went missing last Thursday.
Besides the 16 Malaysians, five Indonesians and a Myanmar national were also on board the tanker.
Search operations are ongoing with the Royal Malaysian Navy deploying three vessels with 150 personnel while the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency deployed a helicopter, three ships and a boat.

Although this F-22 'kill' is on a simulated combat, the fact that the Raptor can be acquired and killed by a 'lesser' aircraft speaks volumes.
Man, I wished RMAF got more of the F/A-18 back then.
agree, but we need electronic warfare plane too, mini version like EG-18 much suitable for as too, since hard to get big EW plane。 new generation combat required AEW or electronic warfare plane to assist tactical to provide info and data. just like F35 require AEW&C to provide info.

i thought the main drive away from hornet was source code?
not the source code... useless bcos we no have own weapom need integrated to F18. mainly Tun D PM that time 2000-2003 no good relation with US, also what RMAF term on new F18 not get from/approval from US.
Did Beijing concede to US by calling off S China Sea land reclamation?

China's foreign ministry suddenly announced this week that it is suspending land reclamation efforts on islands and reefs in the disputed South China Sea.
The official media line on the suspension is that it is because the projects are "complete," however other media outlets have framed the decision as a compromise reached between Beijing and Washington, according to Duowei News, a media outlet run by overseas Chinese. ......
well they almost done reclamation land, so just take opportunity to stop and rest after busy near 2 year. and overhaul/repair the ship/ now most place busy on building construction also monsoon/tornado comming soon at SCS area, so the have to stop for 3-4 month until oct. they also rush on building construction. also waiting Xijinping Obama meeting end. so just china take opportunity stop only

I don't see why people here doesn't rate Mig-29. With proper upgrade it can be a very potent platform.
Among the proposed upgrades(which is being done by both Airod and Sukhoi) -New Radar -MFD cockpit -30 percent more range via CFT -New, updated engines -land strike capability
Besides when the new MRCA is being acquired, the Migs will fill F-5 role as secondary fighter.
well it still russia 198x 199x product which airframe/fuselage lifespan is low, is about 2000hrs or 20 year mainly. no matter how upgrade it still consider danger.. fly own risk. if not wrong upgrade not include radar is not the RMAF want to upgrade, is no option so better than nothing for mig29, just force to accept it. gov now no budget for new plane.

Malaysia better keep its self cool dont be like Vietnam
better we just defend layang lyang and secure the ones near to our area. Dont be "smart" like Vietnam
QUOTE(bereev @ Jun 23 2015, 07:33 PM)
day by day heard the news of claiming reef , feeling uncomfortable seems like the pre world war era that large movement of troops but we can't do any things, demm enemy is coming step by step closer feel hard to breathe
just like layang-layang... as i said before, we no military and economic power compare to china.... so just keep low profile and do reclamation land at Luconia shoal ASAP become china come to do it. just need 100-150 meter land will be enough to make outpost at light house and a port. 100 time better than send war ship park there do nothing.

there is a risk that the plane got too much stress that wing can fall off?
remember new engine will get 7% trust increasing. just add stress to fuselage. just like 20 year old sage change new engine and meter ... but then still 20 year old chassis. pilot still can fly but still have worry in mind. also CFT also add 1 tons fuel load to fuselage. technically not idea to upgrade, but in $$$ point view is ok.
moment you do it, China will start sending ships to block your ships from reclaiming land.
not really, Luconia shoal still with in our 200km eez. more valid reason to do. than we can claim we do in our place just like china claim they do reclamation land in there place at csc. we just do there way. if china block than means more they like invasion ... we need do reclaimation at North and south Lucania Shoal (190km and 160km) ASAP, even with 10 meter house also ok. 50 meter can be done in 1 month. unless like china news reported malaysia already handover Lunconia shoals to china than nothing much to said. Vietnam and Philippine close place have argument with china still have 2xx km from Vietnum and Philippine coast line. Vietnam and Philippine also start do reclaimation land 2-3 month also at SCS too, china did not block too。
