I've always been critical of how our media overrates him. It's bad for Malaysian children. We keep shouting "Maths genius, Maths genius!". Kids tend to believe that you either have the Maths genes, or you don't. This is utterly destructive and uncalled for, and it speaks volumes about how Malaysians generally perceive what it takes to be good in something: You either have it or you don't. The Russians, Chinese and Japanese certainly don't have this view on Maths. They know that it takes a considerable amount of work to be good in Maths. Meanwhile, Malaysians sit by the side, and merely exclaim: I'm bad at Maths.
Back to Adi Putra. His formulas aren't your usual Maths formulas. They are arithmetic tricks, which have been known to ancient mathematicians. The Chinese, Hindus, Arabs, Babylonians all had their own algorithms to do arithmetic. Higher Mathematics, or Mathematics itself, is bigger than arithmetic! |

Terrence Tao was a child prodigy (Maths). He went for his degree in a lesser known, small university, Flinders University. Look where he is now.
Meanwhile, Adi Putra blames the government for not acknowledging and supporting his talent. This is nonsense. You have the internet for goodness' sake, if you want to learn higher Mathematics you can do it for free. |

Adi Putra can be considered as a Child prodigy, smarter for his age group and peers.
But to be upgraded to status of Genius, requires objective assessment which he did not take. A 6 year old boy doing speed maths is impressive. A 16 year old boy doing speed maths is not impressive anymore. So, what went WRONG? It is highly doubtful that however smart a 6 or 8 year old boy is, he will know how to play the Formula 1 card but that was his first or rather his parents of their advisers mistake. By calling it a religious mathematics, it began to alienate his achievements from the rest of the country and even the world at large Ever heard of the term. Buddhist mathematic Hindu Physics Christian Medicine Immediately, even neutral academics from.western countries will be put off by such terms. Second, his parents or advisers, did not want to abide by the standard non.Islamic assessment such as Mensa, etc So Adi Putra remains as someone who.can do.speed maths with his IQ unknown. Also, the pills was a BIG mistake. Nobody is going to.hey smarter just by taking some pills. Come on, are his parents really. So manipulative. To ask.the child to say formula came in.a dream. So, what lies next for Adi Will he finally enter a real.University and prove himself But know, he seems like an.Angry young man who.thinks he got shortchanged. QUOTE(hyperyouth_firepower @ May 25 2015, 03:55 PM) I thought if I'm not mistaken, there was this big hoo has about government showering him with promises, but none materialized from the giver. Strange there was an article posted just yesterday about himThat and the parents waiting to exploit him. “Saya seperti tikus makmal jadi bahan uji kaji. Belajar 5 subjek – Fizik, Kimia, Biologi, Matematik, Matematik Tambahan," katanya. – 24 Mei, 2015. - See more at: http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/bahasa/...h.jPo2s7yU.dpuf Ramai melayu dalam NASA? |
